2.0 teaser: Get ready for this year's biggest rivalry

New Delhi, Sept 13: The makers of highly-anticipated sci-fi film '2.0' just dropped its Hindi teaser and it witnesses a showdown between Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.

The incredible teaser sees Akshay as a mysterious supervillain, who has the superpower to control crows and mobile phones. He takes over the world with this ability. When the world is in a desperate need of a superhero, scientists and researchers bring back Chitti, the robot.

Taking to Twitter, the 'Gold' star wrote, "On the auspicious occasion of #GaneshChaturthi, doing Shree Ganesh of India's Grandest Film: #2Point0 ! Here's a glimpse of the biggest rivalry, Good or Evil...Who decides?"

Directed by S. Shankar, the film also stars Amy Jackson, who plays a droid. '2.0', which brings Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, and Director Shankar together for the first time, is a sequel of 2010 film 'Enthiran' (released in Hindi as 'Robot'). The flick will hit the silver screens on November 29 this year.

Mumbai, Apr 24: A complaint has been filed with police against Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut for allegedly referring to members of a particular community as a terrorist in a video released in support of her sister Rangoli Chandel, an official said on Friday.

The complaint was filed by a lawyer, Ali Kashif Khan Deshmukh, at the suburban Amboli Police Station on Wednesday.

The Twitter account of Chandel, who is also the 33- year-old actor's manager, recently got suspended for alleged hate speech.

According to the complaint, while supporting her sister, Ranaut, in the video, allegedly referred to members of a particular community as "terrorist", the official said.

Ranaut had released the video some time back.

Following the release of the video, Deshmukh submitted an application to the Amboli police seeking registration of a case against the actor, the official said.

Mumbai, Jul 8: Veteran Actor-comedian Jagdeep, best known for his role as Soorma Bhopali in "Sholay", died on Wednesday at his residence. He was 81.

The actor, whose real name is Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri, was not keeping well. "He passed away at 8: 30 pm at his residence in Bandra. He was not keeping well due to age related issues," producer Mehmood Ali, a close family friend, told news agency.

Jagdeep appeared in around 400 films but it is his role as Soorma Bhopali in 1975 film "Sholay" that is etched in audiences' minds even today. He also played memorable roles in "Purana Mandir" and in "Andaz Apna Apna" as Salman Khan's father.

Better known by his stage name Jagdeep, the actor also directed the movie "Soorma Bhopali" with his character as the protagonist. He is survived by two sons - Javed and Naved.

New Delhi, Aug 5: Playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam on Wednesday confirmed testing positive for COVID-19 with 'mild' symptoms.

The 74-year-old musician shared the information through a video message posted on his official Facebook page.

In the video, the singer detailed about having a little "discomfort" for two days, stating he had chest congestion along with cold and on-off fever, which led him to get tested for the virus.

However, he also mentioned that he could have stayed at home in self-quarantine, as advised, but did not want to put his family in danger, and hence got admitted by his own choice, to recover quickly.

"I am in good hand, I am in good health. Nobody has to worry about this. The fever has subsided, and in two days I'll be discharged and I'll be home. Thanks for the concern," he said in the video message.
