20-yr-old man beheads father, walks into police station with severed head

Mandya, Nov 25: A youth allegedly beheaded his father at Gangenahalli under Kikkeri hobli of KR Pet taluk in Mandya district and walked into police station along with the severed head.

Dayananda, 20, allegedly beheaded his father Manju Nayaka (48) and brought the head to the Kikkeri Police Station, to surrender on Saturday morning. It is said that Manju Nayaka was a drunkard. Dayananda was working in a private firm and was at home on a holiday.

“On Saturday morning, the father picked up a quarrel with his son Dayananda, who was also under the influence of alcohol. Enraged Dayananda tied the legs and hands of his father with ropes and beheaded him at home. Later, Dayananda covered the head in a towel and brought it to the police station,” said a police personnel.

It has to be recalled that a youth beheaded his friend on September 29, for allegedly passing lewd remarks against his mother, at Chikkabagalu village, in Malavalli taluk. Pashupathi, 28, son of Naganna, allegedly beheaded his friend Girish (34).

Pashupathi took Girish on his motorbike on the pretext of buying him coffee and allegedly beheaded him with an axe. He travelled 20 km on his motorbike to Belakawadi Police Station, with the severed head and surrendered.

Mangalore, Jan 12: Thieves reportedly stole around 70,000 cash from a MESCOM ATP machine located at Chembugudde in Thokkottu, Police said here on Sunday.

Police said that the theft took place in the MESCOM sub-division office at Chembugudde. It was said that the thieves broke open the room where the MESCOM customers bill payment machine was located and stole 70,000 rupees cash from the ATP machine.

This machine had nine lakh rupees cash. The amount was reported to have been transferred at around 1500 hrs on Saturday.

Mangaluru, Apr 17: Authorities in Dakshina Kannada have announced a fresh coronavirus positive case. The patient is a resident of Uppinangady in Puttur taluk.

With this the total number of covid-19 positive cases in this coastal district mounted to 13 even though most of the patients have recovered and returned home after treatment.

In past twelve days this is the first coronavirus case reported in the district.

It is learnt that the 39-year-old had been to Delhi. He was home quarantined for past few days. His throat swabs were tested positive for the deadly disease today.

Bengaluru, Mar 27: A software engineer has been arrested for giving a "call" to the people to sneeze in the open and spread coronavirus, police said on Friday.
The person identified as Mujeeb Mohammad had made this call in a Facebook post.
"Let's join hands, go out and sneeze with open mouth in public. Spread the virus," he wrote.

"The person who put this post saying people should go out and sneeze and spread the virus has been detained. His name is Mujeeb. He works in a software company," Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Infosys tweeted: "We are deeply concerned with an inappropriate post being attributed to an Infosys employee. We strongly reaffirm our commitment to responsible social-sharing.

The company also said, "Our preliminary enquiry, and discussions with our employees suggest that this could be a case of a mistaken identity."
"However, given the seriousness with which we take such matters, we are investigating this further and will also assist with any independent investigation. The company would take appropriate action based on its investigation," it added
