Bengaluru, Oct 19: Three-year-old Sanjana, who had suffered 60% burns in the building collapse incident following an LPG cylinder explosion at Ejipura, here, on Monday, died at the Victoria Hospital on Thursday evening. 
Sanjana’s mother Ashwini, who was eight months pregnant, and her father Saravana had died in the incident. With Sanjana’s death the toll mounted to eight.
Seven persons had died on the spot after the collapse of two-story building. Miraculously, Sanjana was found alive. She had been sleeping next to a sturdy cupboard that saved her.
After the tragedy, rescuers used heavy machines to remove the tonnes of debris and household material. Suddenly, the plaintive cries of a child were heard.
Fire and Emergency Services officials removed concrete slabs with their hands and eventually, a frail Sanjana, scarred with burn injuries, was pulled out after three hours long effort.
