Vijayawada, Jun 9: A minor girl was allegedly raped by three minors on the premises of a government school in Gannavaram near the city on Wednesday. The accused were produced before the Juvenile Justice Court on Thursday.7old

The seven-year-old victim who recently passed Class II was playing in the Dasari colony of her village B.B. Gudem in the mandal, according to Gannavaram police.

The three accused, aged about 13, managed to take her along with them on a bicycle on the pretext of offering chocolates, the police said. They belong to the same village.

They took her inside the village's upper primary school, which was closed for summer holidays, and allegedly sexually assaulted her. The girl, who was left alone, walked to her home and complained to her parents of pain and the assault. The parents immediately approached the Gannavaram police and lodged a complaint.

Gannavaram Circle Inspector Gouse Baig told The Hindu that the accused were under police surveillance and produced before the Juvenile Justice Court on Thursday.

Mumbai, May 10: A 32-year old man, running a bakery here has been arrested for alleged promotion of products using a tagline that said his firm does not employ Muslims, police said on Sunday.

The man, who is also selling his products online had allegedly said "made by Jains on orders, no Muslim staff" for promotion purposes in his WhatApp group.

A complaint was lodged against him saying the words depicted Muslims in a bad light and Mambalam police registered a case and arrested him, a release said adding a probe was on.

Recently, a man was arrested in Mumbai after he allegedly refused to collect groceries he had ordered online since the delivery person was a Muslim.

Bengaluru, May 21:Tragedy struck an elderly migrant worker who was looking forward to joining his family as he died on reaching a nearby railway station to board a Shramik Special train to his home state Madhya Pradesh, police said on Thursday.

The 69-year old man, who worked in a coffee estate in Chikkamagaluru, collapsed and died soon after getting down from a state-run KSRTC bus that brought him and others to the Chikkabanavara Railway station on Wednesday.

According to police, fellow labourers said he had been ailing for quite some time.

The cause of his death would be known only after a post-mortem, police added.

Karnataka government has been sending back thousands of migrant workers stranded in the state due to the COVID-19 lockdown by arranging the special trains.

Lucknow, May 1: Six members of a family were allegedly hacked to death by another family member over a property dispute in Gudauli village in the Banthra area on the outskirts of the city on Thursday, police said.

The accused, Ajay Singh (26), went to the local police station after committing the crime and surrendered, they added.

Singh allegedly had a heated argument with the family members over a property and attacked them with a sharp-edged weapon, the police said.

The accused allegedly killed his mother, father, elder brother, his wife and two children -- a son and a daughter -- they added.

The victims were identified as Amar (60), Ramsakhi (55), Arun (40), Ramdulari (35), Saurabh (7) and Sarika (2).

When asked, Commissioner of Police Sujeet Pandey said six members of a family were killed and the accused surrendered before the police.
