New Delhi, Apr 23: Aam Aadmi Party workers and supporters instigated the suicide of Rajasthan farmer Gajendra Singh, say Delhi Police in an FIR registered by them.
According to TV reports, the FIR further says that fire-brigade vehicles were prevented by AAP workers and supporters from reaching the spot.
Crime Branch Police visited the scene of Singh’s 's suicide at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and started their probe on the incident.
Singh hanged himself from a tree in Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Wednesday. He was taken to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. He was cremated at his native village in the district on Thursday.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Pilot were among those present today.
"It is a very tragic incident and we are here to offer whatever support we can to the family. Farmers are distraught and feeling helpless.... There has been a system failure," Pilot said.
