Bengaluru, Aug 12: BJP president Amit Shah arrived here today on a three-day visit to Karnataka to re-energise the rank and file, and asserted that the party stood united and would return to power in next year's assembly polls under the leadership of state unit chief B S Yeddyurappa.

"Friends, our party stands united, and is geared up to take to the electoral battlefield under the leadership of Yeddyurappaji in coming days, and see to it that we form a BJP government in the state," Shah told party workers near the Kempe Gowda International Airport here.

Shah was accorded a rousing reception by BJP workers.

He claimed the people had decided to vote the BJP to power as the party had been exposing the "corrupt, polarising and oppressive" rule of the Congress in the last five years.

"I am hopeful that the way the party, for the last five years, has been fighting against the corrupt, oppressive and polarising rule of the Congress, the people of this great state of Karnataka have decided to vote the BJP to power," he said.

Shah said he had come here to realise the resolution of forming the next BJP government in Karnataka.

"I have come here amidst BJP workers to realise 'Ab Ki Baar, BJP Sarkar' (This time, a BJP government) resolution," he added.

He said when Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'VijayRath' (victory chariot) would reach Karnataka in next February- March, party workers should be ready with their quest to make inroads into the southern India by winning the Karnataka assembly polls.

Shah has a packed schedule and would try to bring the factional fights in the party to an end.

BJP state president and former chief minister Yeddyurappa has been facing criticism over his "arbitrary" style of functioning with some party leaders expressing their unhappiness with him.

Shah's programmes during his three-day stay include interaction with intellectuals, meeting religious leaders, state functionaries, legislators, MPs, and leaders of Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

Tomorrow, he will take part in the Political Affairs Committee meeting of the party and visit Adi Chunchanagiri Math in Nagamangala in Mandya district and meet the seer, who is the religious leader of Vokkaligas, the second most powerful community in Karnataka.

He will also meet Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

On the third day, Shah will address party "vistaraks" (volunteers) who had fanned out across the state to get feedback from the people.

BJP (Bahuth Jiyadha Psychopaths) slogan worked in Centre, Uttar Pradesh and other states as they gobbled the Master Key by tampering the fraud EVMs to win elections. If paper ballots are used in elections then the BJP will not even get 1% votes.

Therefore, the slogan of the 99% Sarvajan Samaj must be to scrap the fraud EVMs and go for polls with aper ballots to save Democracy, liberty, equality and fraternity for the welfare , happiness and peace of all societies.

Idiot. Even with the current anti-Hindi mood in Karnataka , he comes up with a meaningless Hindi slogan. Can't learn a few words of Kannada and the idiots around him nod to a silly Hindi slogan.

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 4: Depressed over the communal and racist policies of union government, a 67-year-old retired school headmaster committed suicide allegedly after losing matriculation certificates and documents related to his father.

The victim was identified as Mohammed Ali a resident of Narikunni in Kozhikode district in north Kerala.

On finding Ali missing from home on Friday morning, his family members conducted a search in the nearby areas. His body was later found in a well located in one of his relative’s compound nearby.

A suicide note recovered, suspected to have been written by the victim read, “I have lost all my important certificates. Matriculation certificates of me and my wife. Old documents of my father are also missing. I think all these documents were given away along with the waste recently. None should be held responsible for my foolish act. You may get into trouble.”

According to relatives, Ali was under severe stress after regularly watching programmes related to CAA. He was also actively involved in anti CAA campaign.

“He was worried about the documents and had serious apprehensions about future,” said his younger brother Abdul Nasser.

“After attending an anti CAA meeting in Kozhikode he had shared his apprehensions. He used to frequently discuss the topic with others ,” recollected Jaffer a local resident.

Ali also had health complications. Meanwhile, the local police said that preliminary investigations suggested that the man could have taken the extreme step after losing documents. However, the reason behind the suicide could be said conclusively after detailed probe.

Mangaluru, May 5: Even as the coastal city entered third phase of lockdown to contain the spread of covid-19, a wild bison was spotted in Mangaluru today.

According to sources, local residents at Hathill area and Mannagudda area spotted bison. It is not sure whether it was the same bison or two different bison.

Some reports claimed that it was spotted in Kudroli area too triggering panic among people.

With the help of local residents and police, the forest officials managed to catch the bison around noon.

It is assumed that the wild animal must have come to the city as there was less movement of people and vehicle due to lockdown for past few weeks.

Bengaluru, Feb 12: Mohammed Nalapad, the rogue son of Karnataka Congress leader NA Harris, who is out on bail in a 2018 case of him bashing up a man at a pub, has now rammed his luxury car into vehicles, injuring four people on Bengaluru road.

The incident took place on Sunday on the Ballari Road where Nalapad was rash driving his car. The car hit a biker and an autorickshaw, injuring four people. He immediately got off his car and fled riding a friend's car.

The biker has suffered a fracture in his leg and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to police, soon after the accident a man appeared before police to claim responsibility for the accident.

Ravikante Gowde, Joint Commissioner of Police said, "A man named Balakrishna came to surrender as the one who was driving the car. Investigation has, however, showed that it was Nalapad who was driving when he met with the accident. The investigating officer has issued him a notice to appear before the police."

BJP spokesperson S Prakash has said, "A case under the Goonda Act should be filed against Nalapad and the court should take cognisance of this and cancel his bail. The father has no control over son. He is a serial offender who is harming the public on a repeated basis."

Nalapad was earlier arrested in 2018 in the Bengaluru pub incident in which he and his associate bashed up the son of a prominent businessman in the city. Nalapad Harris is out on bail after remaining in judicial custody for three months in the case of attempt to murder after the 2018 midnight brawl.
