Abu Dhabi: BWF hosts grand Iftar get-together

Abu Dhabi, Jul 7: The Bearys Welfare Forum - Abu Dhabi, organized an Iftar get-together at India Social and Cultural Centre, on Friday, July 3. Padmashree Dr B.R. Shetty, MD, NMC Group and Mohammed Kunchi, Manager, Shaanthi Prkaashana, Mangaluru, were chief guests.

After breaking of the fast and magrib prayers, a short stage programme was held. Delivering the key note address, Mohammed kunhi shed light on the significance of fasting as per Quran and ancient Hindu scriptures.

“Fasting is observed by different religion in different ways. Fasting purifies human being physically and mentally by preventing man from all kinds of evils and instills spiritual values in his mind. Today we live in a society which is shattered with evils. Vulgarity, fornication, immorality and filthy acts are widespread. Fasting can eradicated those evils and transform a man completely and enable him to lead a better life,” he said.

Abdulla Madumoole, general secretary, BWF, welcomed the gathering and briefly introduced the guests.

Mohammed Ali Uchil, president, BWF invited the prominent guests to the dais, and expressed his gratitude for accepting the invitation and joining them for the get-together.

Thanking all those who donated for various causes which helped many under-privileged people to live a dignified life in the society, he appealed for generous help from the philanthropists for its future projects.

He briefed about the philanthropic works of BWF in Mangaluru such as arrangement of marriages for dozens of poor girls, distribution of wheel chairs, Shouchalaya project, a unique pilot project to construct 100 toilets for the poor in the society irrespective caste and religion in the various parts of twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

He expressed his gratitude to Dr. B.R. Shetty and Sarvotham Shetty, Shekar Shetty, Siraj Ahmed, Asif Ahmed, Althaf Khateeb and Althaf Ahmed of Sahibaan community and other donors for their constant support from the beginning of BWF.

He also revealed about BWF mass marriage-16, which will be held in first quarter of 2016 in Mangalore. The total projected cost will be Rs 50 lakhs for the marriage of 25 girls.

Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty conveyed his Ramadan wishes to all and praised BWF for arranging the huge gathering of community members and for its charity work. He also promised to extend his support to BWF.

Mohammed Kunhni, Mr. Sarvothama Shetty, Shekar Shetty, Dr.Viqar Azeem, Altaf of Saiban Community, Abdul Rasheed, Suhail Kudroli also lauded BWF for its selfless service towards the under-privileged.

The program started with recitation of the holy Koran by Aitham Hameed. Jaffer read out the translation. Rafeeq Krishnapur and Jaleel Gurupur compared the programme. Mr Hamza A Khader Vice President of BWF delivered the vote of thanks.

The program was coordinated by Mohamed Siddik Kaup - Treasurer BWF, and Joint Secretary - Siddik Uchil along with Abdul Majeed Kuttar, Abdul JaleelGurupur, Imran Ahmed, and Ismail Shivamogga.

Mohd Kallapu and Basheer Bajpe along with Abdul Hameed Gurupur and Nazeer Ubar took up the floor management. Abdul Majeed, Haneef Ullal, Nzaeer Ubar, Mohideen Handel, Majeed Athoor, Irfan Ahmed, Rasheed Bijai, Abdul Majeed Athoor, Rasheed V.K., Nawaz Uchil, Jafar Sadik, Basheer Uchil, Imran, Mustafa Mata among others were instrumental behind the success of programme.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.
