Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha's love forMuslim-baiter' irks Kannadigas in UAE

Dubai, Oct 25: Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha's decision to invite Muslim-baiter Chakravarty Sulibele as the chief guest for its upcomingKarnataka Rajyotsava' celebration has triggered a controversy with many non resident Kannadigas (NRKs) in the United Arab Emirates asking the organisers to keep communal forces and anti-social elements at bay.

chakraIn its bilingual invitation card for the November 4 event to be held at Indian Social and Cultural Centre in Abu Dhabi, the Sangha has described Sulibele as anationalist thinker' andgreat orator'. According to organisers, NRI tycoon B R Shetty will preside over the event. On the same occasion sculptor and writer B K Ganesh Rai will be conferred with Da Ra Bendra award.

Responding to the development, Sandhya Baliga, an NRK in UAE said that she was shocked to see a hate-monger's photo on the invitation card on WhatsApp. “This is a blunder on organiser's part. They must drop him from the guest list and preserve the dignity of Kannadigas in UAE,” she said.

Anil Pinto, an engineer from Managluru, who recently found a job in Abu Dhbai, said that the organisers are dishonouring themselves by deciding to honour a self-proclaimed Hinduva leader, who is also a close associate of Naresh Shenoy, the Yuva Brigade leader and main accused in Mangaluru RTI activist Vinayak Baliga murder case.

“This Sulibele had rushed to the prison to accord a warm welcome to the prime accused in the murder case when the latter managed to secure bail last month,” he recalled.

Prathima Bengaluru, who is working as a school teacher in Abu Dhbai, expressing her strong opposition to Sangha's decision, said that the only speciality of Sulibele is that he can provoke uneducated Bajrang Dal activists.

“Unfortunately, the number of such hate-mongers and their followers is growing in Karnataka these days. All of them are anti-social elements. NRIs in UAE are true patriots who remit a huge amount of money to their motherland every month. They should not develop friendship with communal leaders,” she opined.

Meanwhile, some other Kannadigas in UAE have found no fault in Sangaha's decision. “What's wrong in inviting a Sangh Parivar leader as a guest? Now he thinks that provoking Hindus and abusing Muslims isnationalism'. Let him come here and learn true nationalism from us,” said Mohammad Saleem from Udupi, who works for a multi-national company in Abu Dhbai.

“Sulibele's thoughts are very uncivilised and silly because he never mingled with all kinds of Indians. His world is Sangh Pariviar. We should give him opportunity to mingle with good human beings,” said Abdul Basith another NRK from Mangaluru.

While you are in India, you enjoy all sorts of privileges and when you are in UAE, it suddenly becomes communal! Come on, guys, have the courage to face some criticism too; don't just run away from reality; you are getting a taste of your own medicine; who is spewing venom, who's anti national you will know when you invite people like Owaisi Brothers, the vote bank politicians like Didi, Behenji, MS and the like! I guess, you would welcome Pappu to do national justice!

Dear Rasheed...
Many of the non muslims learn islam from islam-haters..which is completely opposite way of the real teachings of ISLAM... its easy for them to divert from the TRUTH cos of their IGNORANCE.

Me and YOU as a Muslim should convey the real basic teaching of ISLAM rather than keeping quiet and letting them to continue their hatred towards the religion of PEACE..

ALLAH controls the heart, We should learn on How Umar RA who was staunch enemy of Prophet accepted ISLAM when the TRUTH was presented by a Muslim.... Until then he was hating ISLAM just thinking what was presented to him by the haters of that time and wanted to attack the prophet pbuh...

TRUTH will Prevail... Dont Judge a person they will not accept the TRUTH...

During the Month of February (SJM) in association with (SEDC) in Mangalore Town Hall conducted a symposium on ‘Madrasa system in secular society’. They invited Yuva Brigade leader Chakravarty Sulibele, who is a popular Kannada orator among Sangh Parivar, he said that the rapid growth in Muslim population around the globe in last few decades was not strengthening the community but making the community poor and weak.

However the population could not be a reason for increasing poverty. “While renowned economists like Amartya Sen talk about how population can be used as a resource for the development of the country, vested interests blame people or population for the failure of governments”.
Stating that there is a need to end misconceptions among people about Islam and its madrasa system, madrasas in India produced thousands of freedom fighters and not terrorists. “Even today madrasa advocates patriotism,” and recent years we see most of Madrasa and Mosque hoisting National flag during National days like Independence day and Republic days, however we can’t see National flag in so called Nationalist Organization RSS headquarters or any Sangh organization.
One must understand the fact that Soolibele and his team will not rest until India become Hindurastra. The so-called secular people in Karnataka Sangh Abu Dhabi make any adjustment with RSS ideology but they won't change their mind-set. each and every opportunity what you provide for them they will make it as a weapon to criticize in other stage. I can understand the intention of the organiser but the outcome will be negative impact on secular NRI Kannadigas, therefore all the like minded people should stand together to defeat the intention of internal organizers.
All these things are happening here in result of recently RSS chief held a series of closed-door meetings in Thanthra Vidya Peettham at Aluva near Kochi in Kerala with prominent NRI businessmen seeking their cooperation in expanding the organisation and strengthening its activities gulf countries.

It looks like Kannada Sangha is a face of RSS. The both invitees are RSS. Dr. Shetty is also a strong RSS man but a big businessman. As par as Mr. Solibele, he is well known anti Muslim RSS youth leader. That is not a big matter. But he was supported and went along to jail to welcome a murderer last month. That too an innocent Hindu RTI activist was killed . Do you need such a Kalanka Man to talk in your Organizations function??? What kind of talk , advise we can expect from such a communal person.
Keep Karnataka Sangha away from all these politics and run the organization with the love and unity with the all religion NRI's who are staying like a brothers in Gulf countries. Don't bring poison from India to our Indian society in the gulf.

Thank God they cancelled his trip.it is purely because of high pressure put by various organizations, community leaders and individuals. I salute them for their brave act of unity.

We Indians in U.A.E. are living in a very brotherly and harmonies way of life. And what made Mr. Shetty and his team to invite a man who claimed he and Bajrarangdal -born to burn Masjid,Church and Muslims.
Karnataka Sangha, Abu Dhabi is biased against certain segment of the society ,and show is run by it's president and his bunch of crony supporters.
And just to eye wash the Kannadiga's they put two of their\ chelas\"( \"houdu basavanna, alla basavaan type\" ) as representatives from Muslim community.

I have seen these 2 Muslim members name in the invitation, shame on them. They should have opposed this move from the day one,but why they kept quiet.?It is shame that they failed to to ensure the brotherly relationships or afraid of President!

Better they come out of this evil Sangha, and be with the Larger Ummaha.

Me being a Kannadiga- very uncomfortable and disappointed by such continually biased act of Karnataka Sangha against Muslims

Hope good will prevail !"

As Mr. Abdul basith said... \His world is sangh parivar...\"
Let him come and see what is the world outside of SP...
There are many who changed their mind when they really interacted with the Muslims ...
It is easy to the cheddis to create hate mongers by showing them only doctored clips and LIES...
Muslims should invite him also and explain what is ISLAM and its teachings...
Cos cheddis have filled their software from very young with hate of islam and humanity.
God has given intellect ... When we grow up we should use our intellect to know if ISLAM really hates non muslims or Not...? Dont be a SLAVE of the cheddi software...
For Grown up cheddi members use your intellect and try to learn what islam says... or U will be in DARKNESS of the REALITY of who is the enemy of humanity."

This is a conspiracy of RSS to spread its hate monger idealogy among Kannadigas working in the gulf states. So far all working here without any differences. So they want to spread this divide and rule policy among NRIs too. Muslim countries do not understand this. These kind of hate mongers, who is not allowing citizens of india to live peacefully, should not be entertained. He should be stopped at all means. Please bring this to the authorities of UAE.

Dubai, May 5: Tickets on repatriation flights from UAE to India, which start on May 7, could be costlier than regular airfare, and adding to the financial woes of those flying back. Nearly 200,000 Indians in the UAE have registered on the website seeking to return home.

“A one-way repatriation ticket to Delhi will cost approximately Dh1,400-Dh1,650 - this would earlier have cost between Dh600-Dh700 [during these months],” said Jamal Abdulnazar, CEO of Cozmo Travel. “A one-way repatriation flight ticket to Kerala would cost approximately Dh1,900-Dh2,300.”

This can be quite a burden, as a majority of those taking these flights have either lost their jobs or are sending back their families because of uncertainty on the work front. To now have to pay airfare that is nearly on par with those during peak summer months is quite a blow.

Sources said that officials in Indian diplomatic missions have already initiated calls to some expats, telling them about likely ticket fares and enquiring about their willingness to travel.

Although many believed repatriation would be government-sponsored, Indian authorities have clarified that customers would have to pay for the tickets themselves. Those who thought they were entitled to free repatriation might back out of travel plans for now.

Fact of life

But aviation and travel industry sources say higher rates cannot be escaped since social distancing norms have to be strictly enforced at all times. That would limit the number of passengers on each of these flights.

“One airline can carry only limited passengers - therefore, multiple airlines are likely to get the approval to operate repatriation flights,” said Abdulnazar. “Also, airports will have to maintain safe distance for passengers to queue up at immigration and security counters.

“Therefore, it is recommended that multiple carriers fly into multiple Indian airports for repatriation to be expedited.”

The Indian authorities, so far, have not taken the easy decision to get its private domestic airlines into the rescue act. Gulf News tried speaking to the leading players, but they declined to provide any official statements. So far, only Air India, the national airline, has been commissioned to operate the flights.

Air India finds itself in the driver's seat when it comes to operating India's repatriation flights. To date, there is no confirmation India's private airlines will be allowed to join in.

UAE carriers ready to help out

UAE’s Emirates airline, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia are likely to also operate repatriation flights to India after Air India implements the first phase of services.

“We are fully supporting governments and authorities across the flydubai network with their repatriation efforts, helping them to make arrangements for their citizens to return home,” said a flydubai spokesperson.

“We will announce repatriation flights as and when they are confirmed, recognising this is an evolving situation whilst the flight restrictions remain in place.”

An AirArabia spokesperson said the airline is ready to operate repatriation flights when the government tells them to.

Travel agencies likely to benefit

Apart from operating non-scheduled commercial flights, the Indian government is also deploying naval ships to bring expat Indians back. Sources claim the ships are to ferry passengers who cannot afford the repatriation airfares.

Even then, considering the sheer numbers who will want to get on the flights, travel agencies are likely to see a surge in bookings since airline websites alone may not cope with the demand set off in such a short span.

Learn from Gulf governments

In instances when they carried out their own repatriation flights, some GCC governments paid the ticket fares to fly in their citizens. Those citizens who did not have the ready funds could approach their diplomatic mission and aid would be given on a case-to-case basis.

Should Indians wait for normal services to resume?

Industry sources say that those Indians wanting to fly back and cannot afford the repatriation flights should wait for full services to resume once the COVID-19 pandemic settles.

But can those who lost their jobs or seen steep salary cuts stay on without adding to their costs? And is there any guarantee that when flight services resume, ticket rates would be lower than on the repatriation trips.

As such, normal travel is expected to pick up only after the repatriation exercise to several countries is completed. UAE-based travel agencies are not seeing any bookings for summer, which is traditionally the peak holiday season.

“Majority want to stay put unless full confidence is restored,” said Abdulnazar. “I expect full normalcy to be restored not until March 2021.

“People have also taken a hit to their income. Without disposable income, you will curtail your travel.”

What constitutes normalcy?

Airfares are expected to remain high, given the need to keep the middle seats empty to practise safe distance onboard.

“We expect holiday travel to resume by October or November - but, the travel sentiment will not go back to pre-COVID-19 levels anytime soon,” said Manvendra Roy, Vice-President – Commercial at holidayme, an online travel agency. “The need to keep the middle seat vacant will add 30-40 per cent pricing pressure per seat from an airline perspective.

“This will make holidays more expensive.”

As for business travel, it will take some time to recover. Corporate staff are now used to getting work done via conference calls. “Companies will also curtail their travel expenditure since their income has taken a hit,” said Abdulnazar.

New Delhi, Feb 7: The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to the Central government on a plea challenging the Constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and effective implementation of the Assam Accord.

A bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde also sought Centre's response on the plea filed by Assam Social Justice Forum.

The petition sought appropriate directions for taking effective steps for the implementation of Assam Accord, 1985 in letter and spirit and for conservation and preservation of the of a distinct culture, heritage and traditions of the indigenous people of Assam.

The Assam Accord, 1985, had fixed March 24, 1971, as the cut-off date for deportation of all illegal immigrants irrespective of their religion.

The Bench also sought Centre's response on another fresh batch of pleas challenging CAA and tagged them along with other petitions pending in the matter.

One of the petitions, filed by the Association of Advocates from Maharashtra among others, sought to declare the Citizenship Amendment Act as discriminatory, arbitrary, and illegal and consequently set aside the impugned act as ultra-vires the Constitution of India.

On the other hand, over a hundred petitions have been filed in the apex court, for and against the amended citizenship law, which is facing opposition and protests across the country.

CAA grants citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians who fled religious persecution in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan and took refuge in India on or before December 31, 2014.
