ACB raids offices, houses of officers across Karnataka including Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Dec 13: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided offices and residences of six senior government officers across Karnataka on Wednesday.

The simultaneous raid began before 7 a.m. in different places and investigations are still on. 

In coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, P F Miranda, Assistant Director of agriculture department was the target. The ACB police raided his office at Thokur and house at Kinnigoli.

ACB sleuths raided the house of Minor Irrigation Department Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) H B Malappa at about 2 pm.

It is learnt that he was earlier posted at Shivamogga and later transferred to Kalburgi four months ago.

ACB police said that he owns houses in Shivamogga and Bengaluru, but lives in a rented house in Kalburgi. Investigations are on.

Minor Irrigation Department Assistant Executive Engineer Hemanth's office in Chikkaballapur, farm house and his Bengaluru house were raided by the ACB team 11 officers on Wednesday morning. Investigations are on.

The house of PWD Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Jagadish in Koratagere in Tumakaru district was raided by ACB.

ACB police said that Jagadish has been serving in the public works department (PWD) at Koratagere for the last four and half years, and owns a house there.

The Lokayukta police had gathered information against the AEE two years ago and the ACB has raided his house now.

ACB officers have also inspected documents found in the AEE's Saraswathipuram house in Tumakuru.

In a separate incident, ACB sleuths raided the house of Ankola Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Panduranga Pai and searched his Hubbali, Dharwad and Ankola houses on Wednesday.

Another PWD AEE Suresh Bhimanayaka's house was raided by an ACB team and documents were inspected. He is posted at Kittur taluk in Belagavi district.

Bengaluru, Apr 4: The state government have taken all measures to ensure availability of essential supplies including foodgrains, in the state, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa informed here on Saturday.

He was speaking to newsmen, after holding a meeting of the MLAs, MPs and others, where he had briefed over the measures taken by the state government to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease.

Bengaluru, Apr 5: An elderly couple from Bengaluru

with a travel history to Dubai joined the list of coronavirus patients in the state, taking the total number of cases to 146, the health department said on Sunday.

The list includes four deaths and 11 discharges.

The 68-year old man and his 62-year old wife, hailing from Madiwala in the city, had returned from Dubai on March 22.

They were quarantined at a private hospital and have been asymptomatic.

Meanwhile, the government appealed to people who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat Congregation in New Delhi to contact 080-29711171 Arogya Sahayavani, the medical helpline number.

Udupi, June 26: BJP leader K Raghavendra Kini has been appointed as the new Chairman of Udupi Urban Development Authority (UUDA) by Government of Karnataka.

A well-known businessman, Raghavendra Kini is also serving as the president of Kunjibettu Consumers’ Multipurpose Co-operative Union.

Along with him, the State Government has appointed Suma Naika, Praveen Kumar Shetty and Kishor Kumar as members of the Authority.
