ACB sleuths conduct raid on four Karnataka govt officials

Bengaluru, Mar 19: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials, who are waging war against corruption, on Tuesday conducted raids on Houses, Properties and offices of four Karnataka Government Officials at various places in the State.

ACB in a press release here said that raids were conducted simultaneously on office and houses of B C Satish, Cooperative Societies Registrar, Head Office, Bengaluru, Sharad Gangappa Ijjri, Additional Director, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Department Ltd (KRIDL), Vijayapura, Prakash gouda Kudrimoti, Agriculture Officer, Raitha Samparka Centre, Mundargi, Gadag District and S B Manjunath, Assistant Tax Officer, BBMP, Bengaluru.

The raids, which began early in the morning, is continuing and full details about seizers can be known only after completion.

Chitradurga,  Aug 2: Said to be 110-years-old, a grand old woman Siddamma was discharged on Saturday from a COVID Hospital in Chitradurga after recovering from the novel coronavirus.

According to Dr Basavaraj, District Surgeon, Chitradurga, the woman had tested positive for the disease on July 27.

After her recovery, the frail woman dressed in a sari was seen being wheeled out from the hospital.

As many as 5,172 new COVID-19 cases and 98 deaths were reported in Karnataka on Saturday, taking the state's count of coronavirus cases to 1,29,287.

The active cases in the state now stand at 73,219 while 53,648 people have been discharged.

"5,172 new COVID-19 cases and 98 deaths reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours, taking total cases to 1,29,287 including 53,648 discharges and 2,412 deaths. 

The number of active cases stands at 73,219," said State Health Department.

So far, a total of 2,412 people have succumbed to the virus in the State.

Hubballi, Jan 11: Karnataka Industries Minister Jagadeesh Shatter's mother Basvennamma Shivappa Shetter passed away here on Friday evening.

She was 86. She is survived by three sons and a daughter.

The final rituals was held on Saturday, family sources said.

Udupi, Apr 20: Patients from outside the district visiting Udupi for emergency treatment should be in possession of a certificate, issued by the district health officer or taluk health officer, that they do not have any symptoms of Covid-19.

The decision was taken during an expert committee meeting chaired by Udupi Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesha on Sunday.

The Deputy Commissioner said he will send a letter to all Deputy Commissioners in this regard. The patients from other districts will be treated in various hospitals in Udupi, only in case of emergency.
