Los Angeles, Jan 4: "Call Me By Your Name" star Timothee Chalamet has revealed that before he started acting, he thought he could be an athlete.

The 23-year-old actor was speaking at the 30th Palm Springs International Film Festival, where he received the Spotlight Award for his performance in the film "Beautiful Boy".

According to Variety, Chalamet said during his teenage years, he wanted to follow the footsteps of basketball star LeBron James and Argentina's footballer Lionel Messi.

"There's a moment when you're growing up where you realize the adults around you, your parents, they're all just people. Everyone is just a messy human, and today that's what inspires me the most in my acting," he said.

"But that realization at first, that we're all vulnerable, is kind of scary and defeating. At first I wanted to be a professional athlete, think LeBron James and Lionel Messi. They inspired me with their invincibility," he added.

The actor said he, however, soon realised that he lacked the "athletic talent" to achieve to what James and Messi have achieved.

"I looked in the mirror and I humbly realised I'd never be an athlete for many reasons. Freakishly small frame but more importantly my very glaring lack of athletic talent," he added.

After he went to a performing arts school in New York, Chalamet said, things started to change for him and he started to look up to many great artistes.

"Something changed and I felt myself falling in love for the first time in my life. I was getting inspired in a way I had when I'd wanted to become an athlete, but this time the inspiration wasn't to be superhuman, but to be very human indeed, he said.

"The invincible Messis and LeBrons weren't as interesting to me as the artists who were vulnerable for a living the Heath Ledgers, the Joaquin Phoenixes," he added.

"Beautiful Boy", also featuring Steve Carell, Maura Tierney and Amy Ryan, follows a family's love in the midst of their son's addiction and his attempts at recovery. The film is directed by Felix Van Groeningen and released in the US in October last year.

Bengaluru, Jun 9: There’s no denying the fact that Sudeep is one of the most popular and sought-after names in Kannada cinema. The versatile actor has won the love of fans due to his ‘pan-India’ look and impressive selection of roles. A self-made star, he paid his dues before making it big in Sandalwood. The Bachchan actor had, some time ago, told Film Companion that his initial years in the industry were anything but easy.

The mass hero revealed that his first two movies never saw the light of the day as they were abandoned midway. Following the setback, he finally made his Kannada debut with V Umakanth’s Thayavva and began a new chapter in life. Sadly, the film sank without a trace and was removed from theatres within three days of its release.

“My first two films did not see the light of the day while the third one did not see people,” he added.

Sudeep ultimately tasted success with the 2001 release Huchcha and the rest is history. Over the years, ‘Deepanna’ has starred in several commercially successful movies and proved that he is a certified ‘A-lister’. The star has also made an impact in non-Kannada movies like Rann and Eega, expanding his fanbase big time.

Coming to the present, Sudeep was last seen in the Bollywood biggie Dabangg 3 that did decent business at the box office. The actioner saw him share screen space with Salman Khan, giving fans a reason to rejoice. The cast included Arbaaz Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

He will be turning his attention to the Kannada biggie Kotigobba 3, the third instalment of the Kotigobba series. The film, directed by Shiva Karthik, is one of the biggest movies of the year. It features Shraddha Das, Madonna Sabastian and Aftab Shivdasani in key roles.  He  will also be seen in the Anup Bhandari-directed Phantom.

New Delhi, Jul 14: Going down the memory lane, late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's close friend and actor Rhea Chakraborty recalled her memories with the departed actor as Rajput's untimely demise completed one month on Tuesday.

This marks the 'Jalebi' actor's first social media post dedicated to Rajput after his demise.

Chakraborty took to Instagram to post two pictures of herself with the 'Kai Po Che!' actor and complimented the post with a long emotional note.

She began the note by stating how she is "still struggling" to face her emotions and said that she will never come to terms with the actor's demise.

"Still struggling to face my emotions.. an irreparable numbness in my heart. You are the one who made me believe in love, the power of it," she wrote.

"You taught me how a simple mathematical equation can decipher the meaning of life and I promise you that I learnt from you every day. I will never come to terms with you not being here anymore," she added.

Terming Rajput as the "greatest physicist," the 'Mere Dad Ki Maruti' actor then recalled Rajput's passion for astrophysics.

"I know you're in a much more peaceful place now. The moon, the stars, the galaxies would've welcomed "the greatest physicist "with open arms," Chakraborty wrote.

Full of empathy and joy, you could lighten up a shooting star - now, you are one. I will wait for you my shooting star and make a wish to bring you back to me," she added.

Remembering the bond that she shared with him, Rhea wrote, "You were everything a beautiful person could be, the greatest wonder that the world has seen. My words are incapable of expressing the love we have and I guess you truly meant it when you said it is beyond both of us."

"You loved everything with an open heart, and now you've shown me that our love is indeed exponential," she added.

The 28-year-old actor ended the note by stating how she will love Rajput for a "lifetime."

"Be in peace Sushi. 30 days of losing you but a lifetime of loving you....Eternally connected. To infinity and beyond," she wrote.

Chakraborty and Rajput were close friends and were also set to share the screen space in the film 'Happy Anniversary.'

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai residence on June 14. The investigation in the case related to Rajput's demise is currently underway for which Chakraborty was also interrogated by Mumbai Police.
