After killing Gauri, they threaten to murder Arundhati Roy, Sagarika, Shehla Rashid

New Delhi, Sept 8: Based on a complaint filed by senior journalist Sagarika Ghose, the Delhi police have registered a case against a miscreant who in a Facebook post threatened to murder her.

The police have sought details of the IP address from which the post was written by one Vikramaditya Rana, suspected to be saffron activist. The details of his profile are also being probed.

The post read, “Let d shooting of #GauriLankesh serve as example to those anti-nationals who masquerade as journalists & activists. I hope this is not d last...should be episode of serial assassinations of all anti-nationals. Shobha De; Arundhati Roy; Sagarika Ghose; Kavitha Krishnan; Shiela Rashid etc at d end of a list that should start with anti-national & treacherous politicians. A hit list be prepared & eliminate all those on d list. At last a ray of hope [sic]...”

After Ghose wrote about the post on Twitter, the Delhi Police swung into action and registered a case under Sections 506 and 507 of the Indian Penal Code and 67 of the IT Act, the police said.

Mangalore, Jan 1: Under the aegis of the Dakshina Kannada District Jatyateeya Paksha Sanghatanegala Janti Vedik, Members of Congress, Communist Party of India, CPI (M), Janata Dal (Secular) and other secular organisations will stage a dharna on January 2 here demanding a judicial inquiry into the firing on December 19.

Talking to reporters on Tuesday evening, former Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai said the dharna will be held before the statue of B R Ambedkar, near the Town hall, from 1000 hrs to 1600 hrs.

Mr Rai said allegations are being made that the trouble in the city on December 19 was orchestrated by certain political parties and leaders. The city police are also being accused of acting under the influence of the ruling government in invoking prohibitory orders to quell the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and later firing at the protesters that led to two deaths.

Bengaluru, May 4: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has said that the free bus service for migrant workers has been extended by two days in the state.
 
The service was supposed to end on Tuesday, but it has now been extended till Thursday.
 
The Chief Minister has appealed to workers and other people that they can return to their hometowns without having to gather in large numbers at bus stops.
 
He said, "951 KSRTC buses on Sunday were provided in the state for the travel of migrants. About 1,500 passengers have already gone in 50 busses."
 
On Saturday, an estimated 16,500 passengers in 550 buses left for their homes.
 
On Monday two trains will leave for Rajasthan and Bihar, the Chief Minister said.
 
He said in a press release that everyone will be provided with free meals and water before the journey.

Mangaluru, Jan 7: A ten-year-old boy who suffered severe injuries after drowning in Kadri temple pond died on Monday,

Police said that the deceased has been identified as Sandesh, resident of Athani taluk.

Sandesh drowned while taking a dip in a pond at Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple on Sunday evening. He was immediately rushed to the hospital in the city, however, he died on Monday morning after he stopped responding to the treatment.
