After killing Gauri, they threaten to murder Arundhati Roy, Sagarika, Shehla Rashid

New Delhi, Sept 8: Based on a complaint filed by senior journalist Sagarika Ghose, the Delhi police have registered a case against a miscreant who in a Facebook post threatened to murder her.

The police have sought details of the IP address from which the post was written by one Vikramaditya Rana, suspected to be saffron activist. The details of his profile are also being probed.

The post read, “Let d shooting of #GauriLankesh serve as example to those anti-nationals who masquerade as journalists & activists. I hope this is not d last...should be episode of serial assassinations of all anti-nationals. Shobha De; Arundhati Roy; Sagarika Ghose; Kavitha Krishnan; Shiela Rashid etc at d end of a list that should start with anti-national & treacherous politicians. A hit list be prepared & eliminate all those on d list. At last a ray of hope [sic]...”

After Ghose wrote about the post on Twitter, the Delhi Police swung into action and registered a case under Sections 506 and 507 of the Indian Penal Code and 67 of the IT Act, the police said.

Udupi, Apr 4: District Commissioner Jagadeesh has warned that the vehicles of people who break lockdown norms will be seized.
 
Addressing the media, he said, “People who want to buy essential items are allowed come out of the house between 1100 hrs and 1900 hrs, but we have noticed that some are unnecessarily coming out and blocking the roads. If this continues, vehicles of such people will be seized.”
 
No new COVID-19 positive cases were reported since Friday Udupi district.

Belgaum, May 6: A police constable engaged in security duty at the Belgaum District Collector's bungalow committed suicide by shooting himself on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Prakash Gurvannavar (32) who was a native of Ambadgatti village in Kittur taluka in the Belgaum district.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Commissioner of Police Lokesh Kumar rushed to the spot.

Further investigation is underway.

The government of India today said it will begin evacuating its nationals stuck abroad due to the coronavirus pandemic from May 7 in a phased manner. This facility would be made available on payment basis. 

A Standard Operating Protocol has been put in place and the travel would be arranged by aircraft as well as naval ships and will be available on a payment-basis, the government said.

"Medical screening of passengers would be done before taking the flight. Only asymptomatic passengers would be allowed to travel. During the journey, all these passengers would have to follow the protocols, such as the health protocols, issued by the ministry of health and the ministry of civil aviation," it said in a statement.

Specifying the protocols upon entry in India, the government said the returning Indians would be medically screened and will have to be quarantined for 14 days, either in a hospital or in an institutional quarantine on payment-basis, by the respective state government.
