After killing Gauri, they threaten to murder Arundhati Roy, Sagarika, Shehla Rashid

New Delhi, Sept 8: Based on a complaint filed by senior journalist Sagarika Ghose, the Delhi police have registered a case against a miscreant who in a Facebook post threatened to murder her.

The police have sought details of the IP address from which the post was written by one Vikramaditya Rana, suspected to be saffron activist. The details of his profile are also being probed.

The post read, “Let d shooting of #GauriLankesh serve as example to those anti-nationals who masquerade as journalists & activists. I hope this is not d last...should be episode of serial assassinations of all anti-nationals. Shobha De; Arundhati Roy; Sagarika Ghose; Kavitha Krishnan; Shiela Rashid etc at d end of a list that should start with anti-national & treacherous politicians. A hit list be prepared & eliminate all those on d list. At last a ray of hope [sic]...”

After Ghose wrote about the post on Twitter, the Delhi Police swung into action and registered a case under Sections 506 and 507 of the Indian Penal Code and 67 of the IT Act, the police said.

Bengaluru, Jul 17: A total of 3,693 new COVID-19 positive cases and 115 deaths were reported in Karnataka on Friday, said the state health department.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state is presently at 55,115, including 33,205 active cases. While there are 20,757 recoveries, the death toll stands at 1,147.

With the highest single-day spike of 34,956 cases and 687 deaths, India's COVID-19 positive cases crossed the 10 lakh mark on Friday, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The total positive cases stand at 10,03,832 including 3,42,473 active cases, 6,35,757 cured/discharged/migrated and 25,602 deaths, according to the ministry.

Mangaluru, Jul 10: Among over a hundred special flights to be operated between India and United Arab Emirates under the fourth phase of Vande Bharat Mission, five flights will be operated from Mangaluru International Airport.

The repatriation flights are also allowed to carry eligible passengers from India to UAE between July 12 and July 26.

These flights will be allowed to carry the ICA approved UAE residents on their onward journey from India to the Gulf country.

According to Air India, while flying from India to UAE, these special flights will carry only those passengers who are destined for the UAE.

Flights from Mangaluru

From Mangaluru, the first special flight will take off on July 13 at 7.30 am and reach Sharjah at 9.30 am.

The second flight is scheduled to take off on July 16 at 9.30 am and reach Dubai airport at 11.20 am.

The third flight will take off on July 19 at 11.00 am and land at Sharjah airport at 1.00 pm.

The fourth flight will take off on July 20 at 7.30 am and reach Sharjah at 9.30 am.

The fifth flight will take off on July 26 at 8.00 am and land at Abu Dhabi Airport at 10.20 am.

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 27: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday said the issue of return of Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) to the state has been taken up with the Centre and the state government is awaiting a favourable response.

Vijayan said this in a meeting with Non-Resident Keralites over steps taken by the state government for those wishing to return to the state from foreign countries.

The Chief Minister announced that the Department of Non-Resident Keralites Affairs has opened online registration for such NRKs.

"Those returning should undergo screening at airports. All those returning should undergo mandatory home quarantine for 14 days.

Arrangements of isolation wards will be provided for those unable to go home," said Vijayan.
