Aiming to win 22 LS seats, BJP launches 'Mera Parivar BJP Parivar' in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Feb 12: Bharatiya Janata Party today launched its 'Mera Parivar BJP Parivar' Abhiyan in Karnataka and Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also BJP State President, kick started the Abhiyan by sticking BJP flag on his Dollars Colony Residence.

Speaking to newsmen after the launch, Mr Yeddyurappa said that "we have to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by winning a minimum of 22 seats of the total 28 in the coming Lok Sabha election. We should work hard to see that Mr Modi continues as Prime Minister even after General Elections."

2 more test covid-19 positive in Dakshina Kannada; tally 52

Mangaluru, May 17: With the detection of two more covid-19 positive cases in Mangaluru, the total number of cases in Dakshina Kannada today mounted to 52.

A 35-year-old woman who was under quarantine along with her husband after returning from Maharashtra today tested positive for the coronavirus.

A 31-year-old man also tested positive for covid-19. More details to follow.

Migrant workers stranded in across Karnataka being sent to their home towns

Kalaburagi, May 4: Migrant workers stranded in different parts of Karnataka arrived in buses at Central Bus Stand in Kalaburagi on Monday morning and are being sent to their home towns.

The Kalaburagi City Corporation has made the requisite arrangements for labourers and their thermal screening is also being done.

"Food packets and water bottles are being provided to all. Buses carrying migrant workers started arriving from 5 am. We are expecting around 70 buses. This process will continue for the next 3 days," Rahul Pandve, Kalaburagi Commissioner City Corporation, told news agency.

"We have made arrangements for registration. And all arriving at the site are undergoing thermal screening," he said.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had on Sunday allowed labourers to travel to their hometowns in the state on KSRTC buses free of charge for three days starting on Sunday.
