Udupi, Feb 21: Amit Shah and Yeddyurappa, the national and state presidents of Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday held interactions with seers and mutt heads form undivided Dakshina Kannada district at Sri Rama Vittala Hall on the premises of Pejawar Mutt here.

Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt, Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Palimar Mutt and about 15 seers participated in the dialogue. MPs Nalin Kateel and Shobha Karandlaje, Karkala MLA V. Sunil Kumar, Santosh, Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, T.V. Hegde, and other BJP leaders, were also present.

Though the topic of the dialogue was ‘Hindu religion and culture’ they also reportedly discussed about the political angle.

The press was not allowed to cover the dialogue. After the meeting, speaking to presspersons, Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Pejawar Mutt said that he had told Mr. Shah that all communities should be treated equally.

There should not be any favouritism. Programmes such as Shadi Bhagya and the control of mutts were not desirable, he said.

There should not be one policy for the majority community and another for the minority community. Both the majority and minority communities should be treated equally, he said.

Yet another suggestion given by him was to resolve the Mahadayi river dispute out of court. He said that the Union government should take the initiative to resolve the dispute. If the Congress failed to respond, it would have to take the blame, the seer said.

The seer said that he gave his suggestions to all the parties. “Even if AICC president Rahul Gandhi comes here tomorrow, I will give him my suggestions. But it is up to the political parties to either accept or reject them,” he said.

Asked if the issues of Ram Temple or anti-cow slaughter came up for discussion, the seer said that these issues were not discussed due to lack of time.

For a religious leader meeting in closed rooms is not a respectfull behaviour. Religious shouldn't mile or involve in any political acticity or they support. Theit duty is only preaching and advising every one to follow the path if truth. AttendIng close door meeting the a national criminal is not a wise act now it will hurt  the majority people. Who ever it may be which ever party they may be let them come for worship. Rest all their politial activity all out side the worship place. Now very soon people from all corners will object and start commenting .This is what godse group want to create.  So don't respond or support such dirty creatures.

Mangaluru, May 31: Karnataka BJP president MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has claimed that there has been no differences of opinion within the state BJP.

"The BJP-led government will complete its term under the leadership of B S Yediyurappa," Kateel told media persons in the city on Saturday.

“A few MLAs had met and discussed the developments in North Karnataka. There is nothing wrong in discussing development keeping in mind the party's interests.”

Indiscipline within the party will not be tolerated. Strict action will be initiated against those who indulge in such activities by the party High Command, he warned.

The government, led by Yediyurappa, has carried out good works in the state. All the MLAs are supporting the chief minister. All the MLAs are in contact with me, claimed Kateel.

Bengaluru, Jul 17: The Karnataka State Board of AUQAF has ordered that management committees at Muslim Khabarastans, shall not refuse burial to Muslims died due to COVID-19.

"...in exercise the powers conferred under Waqf Act 1995, it is hereby ordered that management Committees/Muthawallies/Administrators responsible for the management of Muslim Khabarastans in the state of Karnataka irrespective of registered or unregistered in the Waqf, shall not refuse the burial of Muslims died due to COVID-19 pandemic," read an order from the Karnataka State Board of AUQAF on Thursday.

"They shall co-operate with all the Nodal Officers designated for this purpose regarding the decent burial. Non co-operation or refusal on the part of the management will be construed as an insult committed to the deceased. Any violation of the above order will attract the punitive provision of Indian Penal Code and removal from the management as per the provisions of the Waqf Act 1995," the order read.

It further said that the Waqf Officers, District Wakf Advisory Committees of the state, shall ensure the adherence of this order, and circulate the same to all the Khabarastan managements, registered or unregistered in the state.

"No further deliberation in this regard is solicited except compliance of the order in letter and spirit. Any dereliction in this regard will be viewed seriously," it read.

Giving a background on the issue of burial of COVID-19 deceased, the order read, "It is observed that, number of deaths are being occurred in various Districts of Karnataka, due to COVID-19 pandemic and it is reported that, some of the management committees of Khabarastan, are not cooperating to bury the dead bodies of COVID-19."

"A decent burial is a right of the dead person" as per the law of the land and the Islamic jurisprudence. It is needless to emphasize the importance of burial of Muslim dead bodies in Shariah. The dead body of a Muslim is treated with the utmost respect by the Ummah, joining in the funeral (Tadfeen), participating in the Namaz-e-Janaza and the burial are considered as Farz-e-Kifaya in Muslim law. According to the tradition of Islam, the person who participates in the funeral is entitled to Mountain sized reward (Sawaab)," the order read.

As per the order, the board, in its earlier circular had also cautioned the management of Waqf institutions and Khabarastan which were reluctant to allow the decent burial in the Khabarastan would be punished under the provisions of Indian Penal Code and the punitive provisions of the Waqf Act 1995 as well.

"The District Magistrates and the Superintendent of Police in the districts have been requested to prosecute the erring management committees who are responsible for non co-operation in this regard. Hence, the following order," it added.
