Anand Bailoor elected President of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah

Sharjah, Jun 27: Anand Bailoor, M E Moolur and Noel D’Almeida have been elected the president, vice president and general secretary of the Karnataka Sangha Sharjah respectively.

One of the oldest associations for Kannadigas in the UAE, Karnataka Sangha Sharjah has been serving for the past 15 years promoting Kannada in this part of the world through their various activities.

The committee of the Sangha met recently to elect the new office bearers for the year 2018-19.

The following are the main office bearers:

President – Anand Bailoor
Vice President – M.E. Moolur
General Secretary – Noel D’Almeida
Joint Secretary – Vishwanath Shetty
Treasurer – SashikanthKanangi
Entertainment Secretary – Rajesh Kuthar
Sports Secretary – Jeevan Kuckian
Joint Secretary – Sports – Sandeep Rao

All the office bearers accepted their responsibilities and took oath with the guidance of Patron Mark Denis D’Souza.  Advisory Committee comprising of Praveen Kumar Shetty, Harish Sherigar, B.K. Ganesh Rai, PrabhakarAmbalthere, Satish Poojary, past President Sugandh Raj Bekal and Ananth Raman witnessed the oath taking.

The meeting started with condolence prayer to late Basanth Bekal, one of the active members of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, who left for heavenly abode recently. The committee meeting concluded with vote of thanks.

Belagavi, Apr 12: Karnataka police have filed cases against seven people for hiding their visit to Delhi for attending a religious congregation at Nizamuddin Mosque, last month, police said on Sunday.

The Commissioner office here, in a statement said that Hirebagewadi police filed cases against seven persons including one participant and his family members and Tablighi leader for hiding information regarding participation in the religious meeting 'Tablighi Jamaat ' at Nizamuddin in New Delhi in March.

A youth from the Hirebagewadi village had visited New Delhi and hidden information about his visit and misguiding the Task Force officials when they visited his house. COVID-19 Task Force and Model officials informed the matter to Hirebagewadi police.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.

Bengaluru, Jul 15: Karnataka on Wednesday reported 3,176 new cases taking the total count of cases in the state to 47,253.

A total of 1,975 new cases were reported from the Bengaluru alone, the state's health department said.

The toll has gone up to 928 with 87 deaths reported today.

The total count of COVID-19 cases in the country is 9,36,181.
