Mangaluru, Jan 4 The International Kite Festival, will be the main attraction of the Karavali Utsav being held here from January 10-19.

Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh said on Saturday that a variety of cultural programmes are scheduled on the occasion of Karavali Utsav being organized by the DK District Administration at the Karavali Utsav grounds, Kadri Park and Panambur Beach.

Cultural programmes will be presented by budding local artistes of State, National and International fame. All facilities for the cultural programmes will be set up at the Kadri park and Karavali Utsav grounds.

The programme will begin with a cultural procession from Nehru Maidan on 10 January followed by the Inauguration at the Karavali Utsav grounds.

Mangaluru, Jan 23: Veekshitha Arasa, an officially certified Zumba instructor is all set to present Zumba fitness on the Beach to the people of Mangalore on January 26, 2020. The Zumba event will be hosted at Panambur Beach on Republic Day (Sunday) from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Entry is free to the public and there are no tickets.

Veekshitha Arasa will be accompanied by some of the immensely talented Zumba Instructors from Bangalore who have been passionately spreading love for Zumba through their classes and events. Some amazing instructors from Mangalore too will be joining the event to make it even more happening.

With the sole aim to promote fitness among Mangaloreans these Zumba Instructors will make you groove to peppy, energetic numbers and make your evening sweat-blasting and fantastic.

The main presenter and host of this event Veekshitha hails basically from Mangalore. Having conducted Zumba training in various fitness centers and corporates across Bangalore and being the presenter in several mega events both in India and International Platforms in Hong Kong, Veekshitha always had a dream to have a full-fledged Zumba fitness event in her own city - Mangalore. Bengaluru, May 30: Health Minister B Sriramulu banned the consumption of chewing tobacco in public places on Saturday, which is marked as World Tobacco Day. The ban would include chewing paan masala and spitting in public places.

In June 2013, the state banned the manufacture, storage, sale, or distribution of gutka and paan masala containing tobacco or nicotine as ingredients to reduce the prevalence of tobacco use. On October 26, 2016, the state proscribed all kinds of chewing tobacco, containing tobacco or nicotine or both in accordance with the Supreme Court order.

Karnataka is the second state in India to ban e-cigarettes. The state also prohibited single cigarettes. Until September 2019, the state counselled 15,698 patients in tobacco cessation centres set up in private dental colleges.
