November 8, 2016

SunilDongreBidar, Nov 8: A BJP worker was found murdered in a village in this district, an incident which comes close on the heels of the murder of an RSS worker in Bengaluru and the mysterious death of a BJP activist near Mysuru.

The deceased, Sunil Dongre's body was found near an educational institution Monday morning, a senior police official said here.

The body bore multiple stab injuries in the stomach and head, he said, adding the murder had taken place on November 6 in Sonala village in the district.

"We are investigating the case and will soon ascertain the motive behind the murder," police said.

Dongre, 35, was an aide of Aurad MLA Prabhu Chavan and enjoyed clout, they added.

Dongre owned over 50 acres of agricultural land in Sonala and was financially sound, police said.

MLA Chavan visited the deceased's house and consoled the family members.

Earlier on October 16, Rudresh (35), an RSS worker, was allegedly hacked to death by two motorcycle-borne men.

On November 4, BJP Yuva Morcha leader J Ravi (30) was found dead in mysterious circumstances near Magali in Mysuru district, with his family and the party alleging that it was a murder.
