Ballari, Feb 4: Nagendra, the independent MLA of Kudligi in Ballari district, has reportedly decided to join the Congress during party president Rahul Gandhi's three-day Karnataka tour from February 10.

Nagendra, who was once a close associate of Reddy brothers of Ballari, met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at his home-office 'Krishna.' He discussed his plan to join the party during Rahul's visit. The chief minister is learnt to have given a go-ahead in this regard.
Nagendra is facing charges of illegal mining. He will be the second MLA to join the Congress in Ballari district. Recently, former BJP MLA Anand Singh, who is also facing illegal mining charges, joined the party.
