Davanagere, Feb 13: An Indian Army soldier from Harihar, Davanagere district, Karnataka, was martyred in the recent bombing at Pokhran, Rajasthan.
Javeed (32), resident of P B Road, Harihar is the soldier who was killed.
Javeed had served in the Army for 14 years. He is survived by his wife, and two daughters.
Mangalore, Feb 17: The Popular Front of India (PFI) on Monday took out a march in Mangalore's Deralakatte without seeking permission, police said.
"They were only given permission for a programme but they took out a march from Madaninagar to Deralakatte," said ACP Kodanada Rama.
Mangaluru, Jul 21: Private hospitals cannot send back COVID-19 patients for any reason, district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said on Monday.
The Minister was addressing a meeting at the Father Muller Medical College here on the arrangements made for COVID-19 patients.
Dakshina Kannada district is quite advanced in the medical field. Hence, the government will not tolerate COVID-19 patients wandering from one hospital to another for treatment. Refusing to admit COVID-19 patients in hospitals is unacceptable, he warned.
Udupi, May 21: In a shocking development, as many as 27 fresh coronavirus positive cases were reported in the coastal district of Udupi today.
Another shocker is, 16 among 27 covid-19 patients are children. The rest are six men and five women.
Interestingly, all of them have inter-state travel history. 23 had come from Maharashtra and 3 from Telangana. Another one had come from Kerala to Manipal. More details are awaited.
