Ahmedabad, Dec 12: The noose seems to be tightening around Narayan Sai, son of self-styled god man Asaram, with the Surat police claiming that he had confessed to his involvement in the rape of one of the Surat victims.
The police also claimed that the rape accused is believed to have revealed relationship with eight other women followers.
Surat Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana told mediapersons that during interrogation, Narayan has confessed to have sexually molested the victim who had lodged a rape FIR against him. He said that Narayan admitted on several occasions he had molested the victim at various places including his Surat ashram.
“He had further admitted that he had physical relationship with eight other women followers in different parts of the country. We are trying to trace them so that corroborative evidences are gathered against the accused,” said Asthana.
Asthana further claimed that Narayan had admitted to have fathered the child of another follower, Jamuna. In fact, Narayan’s wife Janaki had first told the police about Narayan’s illicit relationship with Jamuna. “He had also confessed to having a relationship with Jamuna from whom he had a son,” said Asthana. Narayan is in police custody for five days after he was arrested by the Delhi Police. He had been on the run for 58 days and was declared a absconder as well.
His father Asaram is already languishing in the Jodhpur jail in an alleged rape case of a teenager.
