Attack on Bhansali wrong, but Rajput's concerns valid: Kelkar

February 10, 2017

Mumbai, Feb 10: Actor Sharad Kelkar has condemned the attack on filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but he feels the concerns of Rajput community are justified though they should approach the right authority to sort out things.

kelkar"I have lot of friends who are Rajput and their point of view is correct, their concern and feelings for a person are right and it (feelings) shouldn't be hurt, but there is a way to sort out things," Sharad, who worked in Bhansali's "Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela",he said.

"We respect the feelings of people who fear that something wrong could have been portrayed. In films people do tweak things to make it more commercial," he said.

Last month, Bhansali was roughed up by a group of Rajput community members, who also stopped the shooting of his film "Padmavati" in Jaipur. The protesters damaged the set at Jaigarh Fort, alleging that the director was "distorting facts" in the film, which is about Alauddin Khilji's obsession with Rani Padmavati.

"We condemn the attack. You are damaging property, beating people, it's not right. To beat someone is against the law and is unacceptable," Kelkar said. The actor feels the matter should be sorted out by talking to concerned people.

"I think if someone has a problem with a film then it can be sorted out by discussing it in court or doing silent agitation or else going to concerned authorities"It's your state and if you don't want to allow anyone to shoot, then talk to the government if there's the anything against the culture. To beat up someone is not good," he said.

Kelkar will be seen as a blind person in his next television show "Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai", which will be aired on Star Plus from February 25. He will also be seen in a negative role in Sanjay Dutt's upcoming film "Bhoomi".

Washington, May 26: Making a slight change to the name of their newborn, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his singer girlfriend Grimes have now named their first child X AE A-Xii.

The difference is only in the numeral part of the name which is now written in the Roman format.

Earlier this month, the celebrity couple hogged headlines for naming their son X AE A-12.

The change in the name came when an Instagram follower of the Canadian singer asked if she had considered changing the name of the child and she replied with, "X AE A-Xii."

However, the performer didn't provide further insight concerning the reason behind the change.

Canadian singer Grimes gave birth to her first child on May 4.

The 32-year-old had earlier taken to Twitter and explained the meaning of the baby's name.

Bihar, Mar 5: A complaint has been filed before a court in Bihar against lyricist Javed Akhtar over his remarks on the FIRs being registered against expelled AAP councillor Tahir Hussain in the wake of Delhi riots.

The complaint was lodged on Wednesday by Amit Kumar, a local advocate, before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Thakur Aman Kumar.

On the basis of a newspaper report, the complainant has alleged that Akhtar's remarks were seditious and promoted religious hatred.

The media report was based on Akhtar's tweet of February 27 that "So many killed, so many injured, so many houses burned, so many shops looted so many people turned destitute but police has sealed only one house and looking for his owner. Incidentally, his name is Tahir. Hats off to the consistency of the Delhi police."

The violence in northeast Delhi claimed at least 42 lives and left over 200 injured. The former Rajya Sabha member was heavily trolled for the tweet.

In a subsequent tweet, Akhtar who asserted that he is a non-believer and a rationalist, had clarified that he was not asking "why Tahir but why ONLY Tahir and not even an FIR against those who have openly threatened violence in the presence of the police".

The matter is likely to come up for hearing on March 25.
