Bahrain Falcons win Bahrain Bearys’ Soccer League

After the cricket league, the BBL conducted the Bahrain Bearys’ Soccer League wherein as many as seven teams combated with passion to win the prestigious trophy and Bahrain Falcons and Talapady Brothers made it to the finals for the final encounter. 

The battle was fought with great passion and hunger which led the officials to push it further for penalty shootout. A nerve-wrecking, enthralling and scintillating finals came to decisive conclusion when Bahrain Falcons won the shootout 3-2 and lifted the prestigious trophy. Noufal from Pitch Strikers was leading scorer with 8 goals to his name. 

The hard work, staunchness, time and efforts of BBL were clearly evident when the entire tournament was organized with proficiency. The stalwarts of the game were full of applauses and parises for BBL for piloting the event in a proficient manner.

Mohammed shahid, President KHK sports, and Mohammed bin mansoor bin MJ al Arayedh were chief guests. Taral Parekh, Director VIVA Telecom, Jaideep, Managing director, Four Square Media were guests of honour. 

Title sponsor was Santanu Chowdhry (chairman Saajtech). The event was powered by Mohammed Mansoor (chairman Saara group). 

The event was organised by BBL committee: Nihal Marfukhan, Shafi Kambalabettu, Ashif Derby, Ashraf Kolpe, Nawfal Renjady, Thouseef, with the support of Abdul Azeez Beary, Riyaz BK, Sameer Moidin, and Mohammed Salaam.

Dubai, Aug 7: One may call it good luck, but for two Indian expats it was God who prevented them at the last minute from boarding the Air India Express plane that crashed in Kerala, killing at least 18 people on board.

According to India's Civil Aviation Ministry, the Boeing 737 aircraft on a flight from Dubai to Kozhikode overshot the runway at Kozhikode airport on Friday evening. There were 184 passengers including 10 infants, 2 pilots and four cabin crew onboard the aircraft.

Noufal Moin Vetten, an Ajman resident working as an office boy in a Sharjah school, was booked to travel on the flight and had checked in as per schedule.

Recounting his miraculous escape, Vetten, a resident of Malappuram, Thirunavaya, whose visa was cancelled a week ago, told Gulf News: “I was handed my boarding pass, but when I reached immigration, they told me I had to pay a fine of Dh 1,000 (Rs 20,430) for overstay. I had only Dh 500 (Rs10,215) with me.

"I called my school PRO and he told me to come back. He said they would follow protocols and pay the fines before sending me,“ he said.

Vetten was disappointed and called his family to let them know.

“When I heard about the crash, I was saddened for all the passengers. But I'm so relieved I missed it. God has been really merciful,” said Vetten.

Afsal Parrakodan, a resident of Abu Dhabi, had a similar stroke of luck.

“My work visa was cancelled about a week ago. After getting my boarding pass, I was told I had to pay a fine of Dh1,000 at the immigration counter, but I had only Dh500 on me.”

“I was very keen to board the flight and be with my family. So I called a friend who brought me the additional Dh500, but by then, my baggage had been offloaded and the flight's doors were closed,” said Parrakodan.

“I was feeling very sad and called my mother to tell her I had missed the flight. But a few hours later, when I learnt of the crash, I couldn’t help but feel relieved and thankful to God for saving my life,“ said an overwhelmed Parrakodan who plans to fly back next week.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.
