Abu Dhabi, Jul 7: The Bearys Welfare Forum (BWF),a well known social organization in U.A.E respected for its philanthropic and charitable works, organized the' Iftar ' get-together at India Social and Cultural Centre, on Friday evening, 4th,July, 2014 amidst prominent personalities, including T.P.Seetharam, Ambassador of India to U.A.E., Dr. B.R.Shetty, MD,NMC Group and Adbusalam Puttige-Editor In Chief,Varthabharathi Daily.

Rafeeq Krishnapur and Irsad Byrikatte along with Jaleel Gurupur compared the program.

The programmed started with a well informative and enlightening religious speech about holy month of Ramadan by Abdul Salam Puttige.

After breaking of the fast and evening prayers, a short stage program held and all the dignitaries were given Ramadan compliments and wishes.

BWF General Secretary Abdulla Madumoole welcomed the gathering and briefed the audience on importance of holy month of Ramadan and a brief introduction of the guests given by him. He thanked Mr. T.P. Seetharam for accepting the BWF invitation and for his gracious presence on the occasion along with Dr. B.R.Shetty and Mr. Sudheer Kumar Shetty

Engr.Mohamed Irsad recited the verses of Qur’an.

President of the Forum Mohammed Ali Uchil welcomed the prominent guests on to the dais, and expressed his gratitude for accepting the invitation and for joining them for the Iftar get-together.

Mohamed Ali Uchil put forward the charitable causes initiated by BWF, which were successfully conducted in Mangalore, especially the mass marriages of 65 poor girls, and appealed generous help from members to conduct these successfully. He also thanked all those who donated for various causes which helped many under-privileged people to live a dignified life in the society. He highlighted BWF-Projects like-distribution of wheel chairs, and empathized on the BWF-Pilot Project-Shouchalaya, a unique project to construct 100 toilets for the poor in the society irrespective caste and religion in the various parts of twin districts.

He especially expressed his gratitude to Chief Guest of the day Mr. Sudhir Kumar Shetty (COO Global, UAE Exchange Centre),Tumbay Moideen,Sahibaan community and other donors for their constant support from the beginning of BWF.

And he announced the forthcoming BWF- Mass marriage program which will be held on 18th October-2014 at Milagrese Hall, Mangalore and appealed for full support from the Community members.

And he thanked BWF-executive committee members and you wing for there, the hard work, dedication and effort put by to organize this function and bring in to its complete success and spirit. It’s an incredible achievement for BWF, which managed to accomplish so many tasks to its utmost goal set, and In sah Allah all of its project will be a complete success. And congratulated them for their innovative ideas, hard work, and sincerity, dedication towards the community causes which helped formation of BWF and in its growth.

BWF- has completed the construction and handover of 100 toilets, and more 50 on the pipe.

His Excellency T.P.Seetharam has conveyed his Ramadan wishes to all Indians gathered and praised BWF- for arranging the huge gathering of community members and for its chartable work

Dr B.R.Shetty was kind enough to address the gathering with highly advisable words and declared his full support for all BWF- Charity projects.

Mr Ananad Bardhan, Community Services officer, Embassy of India was another guest of honor.

The other main guests of the day, Abdussalam Puttige, Mr.Sarvothama Shetty,Shekar Shetty,Dr.Viqar Azeem, Ahmed Wahbe,Fakrudeen Bhat,Altaf of Saiban Community, Abdul Rasheed,Suhail Kudroli,Ravi Rai, Hussain Moulavi and Jayaram Rai who lauded BWF for the community service and selfless work towards the common people and under-privileged.

Mohd Siddik Kaup-treasurer of BWF delivered the vote of thanks.

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.
