Bipasha Sushmita, Rani, Moushmi Chatterjee honoured at Kolkata Fest

Kolkata_FestKolkata, Nov 18: Bollywood actresses Moushumi Chatterjee, Sushmita Sen, Rani Mukerji and Bipasha Basu were on Sunday (November 17) felicitated by the West Bengal government at the closing ceremony of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF).

The 'Panch Kanya' (Five Women) award was also given to Bengali actress Koel Mullick at a gala event at the Science City auditorium.

On this occasion, former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen said, "When you get an award at your home it is the biggest achievement. It is like being blessed by your own family."

Model-turned-actress Bipasha Basu, who was brought up in this city, said, "Being a Bengali makes me very proud."

Rani Mukerji and veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee also said they are very proud of their origin from the state. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, "We will bring back the golden era of Bengal."

During the event, Bangladeshi film 'Television' (2012) directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki won the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) award. Altogether nine films from south Asian countries were competing for the award.

Mumbai, Mar 7: A 'farm-to-fork' themed restaurant 'He-Man' situated on National Highway in Haryana's Karnal -- franchised by veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra -- has been sealed for building law violations, officials said on Saturday.

The Karnal Municipal Corporation sealed the franchise outlet on Friday for not furnishing the change of land use (CLU) certificate and illegal constructions, an official said.

The restaurant is located on National Highway 44 on the outskirts of Karnal, some 150 km from here.

The franchise was given to Delhi-based businessman Pramod Kumar.

"After the success of my restaurant Garam Dharam Dhaba, I am now announcing a farm-to- fork themed restaurant 'He-Man'," Dharmendra had announced on Instagram after its launch on Valentine's Day.

Karnal Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav said the action was initiated as the restaurant owner did not respond to MC notice on the issue.

The social media sensation committed suicide on June 25 at her residence in Delhi. The reason behind her death is still unknown and, as per the latest reports, the police investigation is underway.

The tragic news has made her fans extremely sad and, condolences are pouring in across social media. She had over 1.1 million followers on TikTok and 113k followers on Instagram.

Los Angeles, Feb 21: Nepalese-Australian actor Dichen Lachman has joined the cast of the third film in the Jurassic World franchise.

Lachman, best known for Netflix series Altered Carbon and TNT show Animal Kingdom, is the latest addition to the Colin Trevorrow-directed picture, reported Deadline.

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment project will see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their roles. Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise are also part of the cast.

The movie marks the return of original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.

Trevorrow has co-written the script of the new film with Emily Carmichael. He will also executive produce the film with Steven Spielberg.

Jurassic World 3 hits theatres on June 11, 2021.
