BJP central leaders back Yediyurappa: BSY regime will be stable, says Amit Shah

New Delhi, Jul 27: Ending speculation that the party high command had differences over backing B S Yediyurappa to make another shot at running a coalition regime in Karnataka, the BJP central leaders backed the new dispensation and hoped it will herald a 'new dawn' for the state.

"Congrats to BS Yediyurappa, newly sworn in CM of Karnataka. I am sure under his leadership and under the guidance of PM Modi, BJP will give a stable, pro-farmer and development oriented govt in the state. I assure people of Karnataka that BJP is committed to fulfil their aspirations," BJP president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted.

Mr Yediyurappa was sworn in as the chief minister of the state for the fourth time on Friday evening and curiously no senior central leaders were present on the occasion.

Bengaluru, Jun 16: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief DK Shivakumar's daughter Aishwarya and Cafe Coffe Day founder late VG Siddhartha's son, Amarthya Hegde got engaged at SM Krishna Residence, Sadashivanagar in Bengaluru on Monday.
Only family members were present in the event. Amarthya Hegde is also the grandson of former Union Minister SM Krishna.
Last year in July, the body of Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) founder Siddhartha was unearthed on the banks of Netravati river.

Mangaluru, May 4: In order to protect the frontline coronavirus fighters from the pathogen, students at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management has developed face shields that will help the front-line healthcare workers.

Mr Johnson Tellis - Chief Innovation Officer, Mr Gautham Nayak - Design Engineer and DreamWorks Makerspacerun by determined students, supported by Sahyadri Start-up ecosystem, at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management has headed the team.

The team took the initiative along with other maker communities in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and the likes, with a pledge to produce and deliver 1 Million face shields across India. In three weeks, the team has contributed to the cause and delivered more than3500 face shields and a ventilator splitter for the Dakshina Kannada and Shimoga region.

Mangaluru, Apr 18: Food kits were distributed to as many as 100 needy Beary poets, writers and artistes’ on behalf of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy at a simple ceremony held at the Academy office here on Friday.
 
The service initiative during the Lockdown was taken up as per the guidance of Minister for Kannada and Culture C T Ravi.
 
Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary distributed the kits to the beneficiaries.
