BJP central leaders back Yediyurappa: BSY regime will be stable, says Amit Shah

New Delhi, Jul 27: Ending speculation that the party high command had differences over backing B S Yediyurappa to make another shot at running a coalition regime in Karnataka, the BJP central leaders backed the new dispensation and hoped it will herald a 'new dawn' for the state.

"Congrats to BS Yediyurappa, newly sworn in CM of Karnataka. I am sure under his leadership and under the guidance of PM Modi, BJP will give a stable, pro-farmer and development oriented govt in the state. I assure people of Karnataka that BJP is committed to fulfil their aspirations," BJP president and Union Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted.

Mr Yediyurappa was sworn in as the chief minister of the state for the fourth time on Friday evening and curiously no senior central leaders were present on the occasion.

Bengaluru, Jan 6: There is a wide spread criticism by the Janata Dal(S) and Congress leaders over a proposal to rename Ramanagaram district as New (Nava) Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister CM Yediyurappa said on Monday.

“An unnecessary discussion on renaming Ramanagaram is under way. There is no thought before the government over renaming," The CM accused the Congress and JD(S) leaders of indulging in baseless discussion to mislead the people and to remain relevant. "There is no such agenda before the government. It is a joke that JD(S) and Congress leaders are starting a fight over it.”

The Chief Minister’s clarification came after criticism by former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, who carved out the Ramanagaram district when he was Chief Minister, and former Minister DK Shivakumar whose Kanakapura constituency is in Ramanagaram district, after Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwath Narayan said Ramanagaram could be renamed as Nava Bengaluru to increase investments prospects.

Mangaluru, Apr 29: District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Wednesday inaugurated a mobile fever clinic to cure COVID-19 patients.

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has converted one of its buses into a clinic in Mangaluru to treat COVID-19 patients.

The mobile fever clinic has a bed for the patient and a cabin for the doctor. There is also a seating facility, medicine box, wash-basin, sanitizer, soap oil, a separate water facility, and fans.

New Delhi, April 3: Chairman of Lulu Group, Yusuffali MA on Thursday contributed Rs 25 crores to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) to combat coronavirus.

"I have humbly contributed INR 25 Crores to the PM Cares Fund to support all relief works in India's fight against the COVID-19," Yusuffali said in a tweet.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had created PM CARES Fund and appealed to all the countrymen to show their support for the cause.
The prime minister is the chairman of the trust and its members include the defence minister, the home minister and the finance minister.
