Bengaluru, Sept 21: Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka today launched a state-wide agitation demanding an apology by from Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for it called a 'seditious' remark after allegedly gave call to public to 'revolt' against BJP for hindering developmental activities by indulging in luring ruling coalition government Legislators in its attempt to capture power in the State.

BJP State General Secretary and Lok Sabha member Shobha Kharandlje, addressing the party workers who picketed in the city on Friday, alleged that "by giving a provoking call to the public Mr Kumaraswamy has acted against the Constitution on which he has taken pledge before assuming the highest office in the State. He should tender an apology not only to public but also particularly to Opposition Leader in the Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa."

She said that such outburst from a person holding important position in the Government was most uncalled for and highly condemnable. "If Mr Kumaraswamy has any charges that he can prove against BJP leaders let him order an inquiry as he is the Chief Minister and has all the powers. Instead of that he should not indulge to tarnish the image of the party and its leaders by making baseless charges," she added.

Mangaluru, Jan 29: Days after some youths allegedly threatened to 'behead' local MLA and former Karnataka minister U T Khader during a pro-CAA rally here, the Dakshina Kannada district unit of the Congress on Wednesday urged the police to register a case against the culprits.

A video of the incident that went viral on social media showed the youths raising slogans that they will "cut off his limbs and chop off his head if necessary" during the rally organised by the BJP in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act on Monday.

Addressing reporters here, District Congress Committee president Harish Kumar demanded that the police register a case on their own against the youths. He said if prompt action was not taken against the youths seen in the video, the Congress will launch an agitation before the office of the Commissioner of Police.

When asked by reporters about the video, Khader had on Tuesday brushed aside the threat, saying he had not taken it seriously. The MLA had also said he did not file a complaint with police as he had concern for the families of the youths.

Bengaluru, Jan 25: Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu on Friday, hit out at JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy, accusing the former Chief Minister of pursuing "vote bank" politics and advised him to move to Pakistan.

"It is better to move to Pakistan...if he shows so much love towards Pakistan, why should he live in India? He should not do dual politics like this. He wants to be fair to Pakistan and also to India," Sriramulu said.

Terming it as "double standards", the Minister said: "From so many years, you have been doing vote bank politics. You have to understand one thing...you are the son of former Prime Minister and also a former Chief Minister. By giving these type of statements, I think it will hurt the citizens of India. If you want to do vote bank politics I must suggest that it is better to leave the country."

His statement comes after Kumaraswamy took a jibe at BJP over its "obsession with Pakistan".
