BJP may be conspiring to kill Karnataka CM, suspects DKS

Shivamogga, Apr 4: Slamming BJP leader K S Eshwarappa for controversial remarks on Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Congress stalwart D K Shivakumar suspected that BJP leaders might have conspired to murder the CM.

Speaking to media persons, here on Wednesday, he said Eshwarappa has given statement indicating that Kumaraswmay may die after Lok Sabha polls. BJP must clarify the intention behind such a statement. Eshwarappa is known for making such meaningless statements. Why can’t state BJP President B S Yeddyurappa take disciplinary action against him? Is this culture of RSS and BJP, he questioned.

Reacting to Eshwarappa’s statement that the party did not issue ticket to Muslims as they did not back BJP, he said the BJP leader is dividing people on the basis of caste, religion during the election period.

Mangaluru, Jun 29: As many as 49 fresh covid-19 cases were reported in Dakshina Kannada district in past 24 hours taking the district’s tally to 568.

At the same time 38 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery from covid 19.

Out of the 49 positive cases, 14 persons had returned from Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar. 17 persons had contracted the disease from patient number 9590. 3 persons are suffering from an influenza-like illness (ILI), and 4 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection.

The health officials are tracing the contacts of six others. All the 49 persons have been shifted to hospital for treatment. Most of them are said to be asymptomatic.

Bengaluru, Apr 25: With 26 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours, the total number of positive cases in Karnataka reached 500 on Saturday.

This includes 158 patients who have been cured and discharged following treatment while 18 deaths have been reported so far due to the infection in the State, according to a media bulletin issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday evening.

A total of 324 COVID-19 cases are currently active in the State as of Saturday evening 5 pm.
According to the bulletin, Bengaluru Urban with 133 positive cases, including 49 discharged and four deaths, is the worst-affected district in the State, followed by Mysuru and Belagavi, with 89 and 54 confirmed cases, respectively.

Mangaluru, May 22: Dakshina Kannada today reported a fresh case of coronavirus infection, taking the coastal district's tally to 62. 

The new patient is a 29-year-old womon, who was under instituional quarantine monitored by the district administration in Belthangady. 

She had returned from Mumbai on May 18. Her throat swabs were sent for covid-19 testing on the following day and today she received positive result.

Out of the 62 covid-19 cases detected in Dakshina Kannada so far, only 50 are residents of the district. Among 12 others 4 are from Kasaragod and 3 from Karkala, 2 each from Uttara Kannada and Mumbai, and 1 from Kalaburgi.
