BJP MLA Lokendra Singh Dies in Car Accident in Sitapur

Lucknow, Feb 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, Lokendra Singh died on Wednesday in a car accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district. His car rammed into a truck on a highway.

Lokendra Singh was an MLA from Bijnor’s Noorpur constituency. He was travelling on his personal vehicle, a Toyota Fortuner, when the accident occurred. The head-on collision with the truck also killed his two gunners.

The impact of the accident was so intense that the truck driver also died.

Lokendra Singh was 41 years old and is survived by his wife and two sons. Lokendra Singh had won in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in March, last year with a handsome margin.

Gonda, Apr 9: A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room as he was missing his wife stuck at her parents' place due to the lockdown, police said.

The incident took place in Radha Kund locality here on Wednesday, they said, adding the deceased has been identified as Rakesh Soni, 32.

As per information, Soni's wife had gone to her parents' place and was stuck there due to the lockdown and he was missing her due to which he committed suicide, Inspector Alok Rao said.

A probe is on in the mater, he said.

Nagpur, Apr 5: A 23-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Imambada area in Nagpur on Saturday due to financial distress, police said.

Nikhil Gavhane, who worked in a grocery shop, hanged himself as he had taken money from a person and was stressed over repayment, an official said.

"He was depressed since a week," the Imambada police station official said.

Belagavi, Jan 19: Miscreants have murdered a couple and their son at Dodwad Village, about 50 km from here, in the wee hours on Sunday.

The victims were identified as Shvananda Basavanthappa Andanashetty, his wife Shanthavva and their son Vinod.

Senior Police officials visited the spot and a case was registered at Dodwad Police Station.
