BJP MP Kirti Azad urges Delhi Police to file FIR against Arun Jaitley

New Delhi, Jun 25: BJP MP Kirti Azad and former Indian cricketer has formally requested the Delhi Police to register an FIR against president, secretary and other concerned officials of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

Arun JaitleyThe Member of Parliament in his letter to the SHO, IP Estate, said that rules were flouted when Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was the DDCA president.

In its complaint, he even alleged that the DDCA runs a bar within the premises of Ferozshah Kotla stadium and has been given a license by the Excise department of the Delhi government. In his letter, Azad even talked about how rules were flouted and liquor was circulated at Ferozshah Kotla on October 2, 2013, which was a dry day.

Azad said that this is not just a violation of Delhi Excise Act but also a violation of Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act (1971).

This is not the first time when BJP has suffered embarrassment with Azad's remarks. Earlier, Azad had tweeted that the leak of the Keith Vaz emails was an inside job against Sushma Swaraj. Speaking exclusively to Seedhi Baat, Azad had defended his comments and said regardless of what action the party may decide to take against him, he stands by his comments and there is no question of taking the charge back or apologising to anyone.

He even said that the responsibility to stop the IPL loot rested not just with Lalit Modi but also with other members at the helm of affairs in the BCCI. Azad has said that Arun Jaitley, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan, Rajiv Shukla and other BCCI members should also be held responsible for the FEMA violations during IPL season 2.

Earlier, he had demanded a probe against Jaitley and other BCCI members for foreign exchange violations during the IPL T20 season two league.

Nagpur, Aug 8: "He was a great son and always the first one to help others in need. He sacrificed his life for the country," said Neela Sathe, the mother of late captain DV Sathe, who was flying the Air India flight that crash-landed at Kozhikode airport on Friday, claiming 18 lives.

Indian Army Retired Colonel Vasant Sathe and his wife Neela lost both their sons in line of duty. The couple is originally from Nagpur, Maharashtra.

Speaking to news agency, Neela broke into tears and said, "He was a great son and always the first one to help others in need. 

His teachers still appreciate him. During the Ahmedabad floods, he saved the children of the soldiers by lifting them in his arms. I wish God would have called us instead of him."

"Both our children sacrificed their lives for the country," she added.

Remembering DV Sathe's childhood, Neela talked about every that moment when he made his parents proud.

Neela told with great pride that Captain DV Sathe had received the Sword of Honor and had also won eight medals in the Air Force.

Neela last talked to DV Sathe over phone call a few days ago during which captain told her mother not to go out of the house amid COVID-19 crisis as if something happens to her, he won't be able to bear that.

Vasant, captain's father retired as a colonel after serving in the Army for 30 years, following the footsteps of their father, both his sons joined too the Army.

Their elder son Vikas, was in the Army, and at the age of 22, he was martyred in an accident in Ferozepur in 1981. Their younger son Deepak (DV Sathe), who served as a pilot in Air India after serving in the Indian Air Force, died in the plane crash on Friday.

An Air India Express plane carrying 190 passengers including 10 infants skidded while landing at Karipur Airport in Kozhikode on Friday evening.

Nagpur, Feb 21: Former Maharashtra chief minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Friday condemned AIMIM leader Waris Pathan's reported remarks that 15 crore Muslims are more than a match for the country's 100 crore Hindus, and asked the latter not to mistake the majority community's tolerance for weakness.

Pathan has been widely condemned for reportedly stating that "15 crore hain lekin 100 crore pe bhari hain".

He purportedly made these comments while addressing an anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act rally in Kalaburagi in north Karnataka on February 16. The AIMIM leader has claimed he was quoted out of context.

Speaking to reporters in Nagpur, Fadnavis demanded an apology from Pathan and asked the Uddhav Thackeray government to take action.

"We condemn the statement made by Waris Pathan and demand an apology. In case he does not apologise, the state government must take action against him," he said.

Fadnavis said Pathan should understand that minorities were safe and enjoyed full freedom in India because 100 crore Hindus live in the country.

He said no one would dare utter such a statement in a Muslim-majority nation, adding that the "Hindu community is tolerant but its tolerance should not be mistaken for weakness".

"Pathan should apologise to the nation and the Hindu community," he said.

Feb 14: India will never forget the martyrdom of the security personnel killed in last year's Pulwama attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday.

He termed the slain security personnel were "exceptional individuals" who devoted their lives to serving and protecting the nation.

On February 14 last year, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Forty Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in the attack.

"Tributes to the brave martyrs who lost their lives in the gruesome Pulwama Attack last year. They were exceptional individuals who devoted their lives to serving and protecting our nation. India will never forget their martyrdom," tweets PM Modi one year since the Pulwama attack.

"I pay homage to the martyrs of Pulwama Attack. India will forever be grateful of our bravehearts and their families who made supreme sacrifice for the sovereignty and integrity of our motherland," tweets Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
