BJP stooped to new low by distributing ‘anti-national’ tag: SDPI

Benglauru, Sept 10: The statements from BJP leaders including Putturu MLA Sajeeva Matandur and Uttara Kannada MP Ananth Kumar Hegde in response to the resignation of IAS officer Sasikanth Senthil, was highly derogative. Their utterances depicts that they are suffering mental defection, said Elyas Mohammad Thumbe, Karnataka state unit president, Social Democratic Party of India.

Mr Thumbe said that Senthil tendered his resignation in protest by sacrificing his high profile designation being witnessing ongoing widespread violence, human rights violations, atrocities on persons who criticize  government, undermining the constitution, heavy handedness of public-autonomous institutions, deeply declined economy, denial of freedom of speech and undeclared emergency across the nation. Like Senthil another IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan and others also followed the path of tendering resignation in Protests which indicates that the democracy is in extreme Danger in this country.

The move of Senthil cannot be digestive to BJP and Sangh which are dividing the nation through fascism and Manuvad and sowing the seeds of violent -racist nationalism.

Thumbe said, nation is witnessing that how these Modi and Sha Bakths including MLAs of coastal Karnataka stooped to such a moral low that they are dispensing "Desh Drohi" labels freely and desperatingly proving themselves as "Desh Bhakts".

Chikkamagaluru, Jan 28: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Public Works Govind Karjol on Tuesday said that he is ready to quit if the post asks him to do so to pave way for smooth expansion of the Cabinet.

Responding to a question from media persons on the issue here, he said he was ready to quit his post any time.

“If the party asks me to resign now, I will send back my official car and return by bus”, he added.

Further, he opined that there should not be efforts to seek a berth in the Cabinet based on caste.

“Putting pressure on the party based on caste is not right. The party will consider those who worked for the party and also take district-wise representation into account while filling up the vacancies”, he added.

Udupi, Mar 11: An elderly woman, who had recently visited Saudi Arabia has been admitted to an isolation ward at KMC in Manipal, here with symptoms of fever, cough and breathlessness.

The 68-year-old woman hails from Sagar taluk in Shivamogga district of Karnataka.

The patient had travelled to Saudi Arabia in the last week of February and was treated for fever cough and breathlessness there.

After recovery, she had travelled back to Bengaluru, where she was screened at the airport. 

Later, she reached Shivamogga where she was treated at Nanjappa Hospital for symptoms of fever, cough. 

As she has symptoms of coronavirus, she is quarantined and is under observation. The samples will have been sent to Bengaluru and the result is awaited.

Mangaluru, July 13: With the confirmation of four more deaths related to novel coronavirus, the covid-19 death toll in Dakshina Kannada has mounted to 50.

In fact, the four fatalities had occurred on Saturday. Today the authorities concerned that they were tested positive for Covid-19.

The deceased include two septuagenarians, a sexagenarian, and a 53-year-old. All of them were male.

Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh revealed that their comorbidities were diabetes in ICU, pneumonia in ICU, hepatitis in ICU, severe acute  respiratory infection and carcinoma of the lung respectively.
