BJP supremo Amit Shah to visit Mangaluru on Oct 4

Mangaluru, Sept 26: Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah will hold a meeting of party senior leaders in Mangaluru on October 4. 

The coastal city has become a political hotbed with the recent communal incidents.

According to sources, Mr. Shah will review the progress of various organisational programmes suggested by him during his last visit to the State in August. 

The meeting is being held in Mangaluru as Mr. Shah will be touring Kerala from the next day, a senior party leader said.

All top leaders of the party State unit, including members of the core committee and office-bearers, are expected to take part in the meeting.

Bengaluru, Mar 1: Bengaluru Police has rescued six women and arrested two people after a raid on a spa, allegedly operating illegally, in the city's HSR layout area.

"Of the women rescued three are from Thailand and the other three are from North-Eastern states," said a statement from the Central Crime Branch's (CCB) Women Protection Wing.

The raid was carried out on Saturday night and the police have arrested two people, while the owner of the spa is absconding.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Peter Sunawar and Rajkumar Radhakrishna Mishra. Further investigation is underway in the case.

Mangaluru, May 4: An engineering student has claimed to have received 600 threat calls in the past few days from unidentified people for starting fish business during the lockdown in Kavoor. 

According to Sakshath Shetty, resident of Kavoor, he started receiving threat calls from various people after he started selling fish during the lockdown. 

Police said they have been able to identify some of the numbers from where the threat calls were made and investigation is under way.

New Delhi, Feb 26: The death toll in northeast Delhi communal violence over the amended citizenship law rose to 20 on Wednesday, according to GTB Hospital authorities.

On Tuesday, the death toll was 13.

"The death toll has risen to 20 today," Medical Superintendent of GTB Hospital, Sunil Kumar, told PTI.

Earlier, at least four bodies were brought to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital from the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital, a senior official said.
