BJP which released most wanted Masood Azhar attacks Rahul for adding a ‘ji’

New Delhi, Mar 12:  In his eagerness to attack BJP over the release of Masood Azhar following hijack of Indian Airlines plane in 2000, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday ended up giving up a major handle to the saffron party when he addressed Jaish-e-Mohammad chief as 'Masood Azhar ji'.

"It is shameful to say the least...," Union Minister Smriti Irani told a TV channel within minutes the video of Congress president's speech went vital on social media and TV news channels.

"Desh ke 44 vir jawano ki shahdat ke liye jimmedar atanki sangathan Jaish-e-Mohammad ke sargarna ke liye Rahul Gandhi ki man mein itna samman (It appears Rahul Gandhi has lot of respect for someone who is chief of JeM and is responsible for the killing of 44 CRPF personnel)," BJP's official twitter handle said with the video of Mr Gandhi's speech.

Addressing a Congress booth level workers meet, Mr Gandhi said - Jaish-e-Mohammad carried out the Pulwama attack in which 44 jawans were killed. "But it was current NSA Ajit Doval who handed over Masood Azhar ji at Kandahar".

Ms Irani, who contested against Rahul Gandhi in Amethi in 2014, further said - "Are you surprised ..this is the same Rahul Gandhi who supported Tukde Tukde gang in Delhi".

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also flayed Rahul Gandhi and said - "Don't call it Rahul Gandhi's slip...even in past Digvijaya Singh has called Osama bin Laden....Osamaji".

New Delhi, April 3: The total number of coronavirus cases in India on Friday climbed to 2301, including 156 cured and discharged and 56 deaths, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

At present, there are 2088 COVID-19 active cases in the country.

"A total number of COVID-19 positive cases rises to 2301 in India, including 156 cured/discharged, 56 deaths and 1 migrated," said the Health Department.

The highest number of positive cases of coronavirus was reported from Maharashtra at 335, including 16 deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu (309 and 6 deaths) and Kerala (286 and 2 deaths).

There are 219 coronavirus positive cases in the national capital, including 8 cured and discharged and 4 deaths.

The states which have crossed 100-mark for COVID-19 positive cases also include Andhra Pradesh (132), Karnataka (124), Rajasthan (133) and Telangana (107).

While 18 people were detected positive for coronavirus in Chandigarh, 70 cases were confirmed from Jammu and Kashmir and 14 from Ladakh.

In North-East, one COVID-19 case each has been confirmed from Mizoram and Assam, and two in Manipur.

New Delhi, May 25: India witnessed the highest ever spike of 6,977 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 to 1,38,845, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

India is now among the top 10 countries in the world regarding the total number of COVID-19 cases.

With 154 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 now stands at 4,021 in the country.

Out of the total number of cases, 77,103 are active cases and 57,721 have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state with 50,231 COVID-19 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu (16,277), Gujarat (14,056) and Delhi (13,418).

The fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown imposed as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 is scheduled to end on May 31.

New Delhi, Jul 26: India reported a spike of 48,661 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.

The total COVID-19 positive cases stand at 13,85,522, including 4,67,882 active cases, 8,85,577 cured/discharged/migrated, it added.
With 705 deaths in the last 24 hours, the cumulative toll reached 32,063.

Maharashtra has reported 3,66,368 coronavirus cases, the highest among states and Union Territories in the country.

A total of 2,06,737 cases have been reported from Tamil Nadu till now, while Delhi has recorded a total of 1,29,531 coronavirus cases.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 4,42,263 samples were tested for coronavirus on Saturday and overall 1,62,91,331 samples have been tested so far.
