Shivamogga, Apr 1: Congress veteran and Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar has said that after Lok Sabha elections the Karnataka coalition government will not collapse, but the state BJP leadership will change.

Shivakumar told reporters here, “B S Yeddyurappa is unwanted in his party. He has been retained in the just for namesake. Many leaders in Karnataka BJP want him to take rest after the Lok Sabha elections.”

“The BJP leadership never comes to the rescue of those in trouble. It is amply evident in my sister Tejaswini Ananth Kumar case. Why did they deny ticket to Tejaswini? Was it done at the behest of Yeddyurappa?. People, including me, want to know why and how Tejaswini was denied ticket for Bangalore South constituency in the last-minute,” Shivakumar, who was here to address a party workers meeting, said.

Replying to a query on the I-T raids on JD(S) followers, he said, “Is Yeddyurappa an I-T spokesperson? How can he say that the I-T officials raided the businessmen and industrialists and not the elected representatives? I-T department has never raided the BJP leaders. The people are watching how the Modi government is misusing the Central agencies, including I-T department.”

To a specific query, he said, “A section of Congress leaders and the workers call me the troubleshooter. But I am a Congress worker first. My goal is to strengthen the party and help the party candidates win elections. I have told the workers to stop hero worship, and instead do party worship, he said.
