Bollywood in full attendance at Deepika-Ranveer's reception

Mumbai, Dec 2: Bollywood's who's who -- including the Bachchans -- the Ambani family and icons of India's cricket pantheon turned up for Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's star-studded wedding reception here at a five star hotel, their third after the wedding in Italy on November 14 and 15.

The celebrations at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in suburban Mumbai carried well into the night. The reception was for their friends and colleagues from Bollywood.

Deepika looked gorgeous in Zuhair Murad's blood-red, thigh-high slit, embellished gown with a long train. Ranveer looked dapper in a black tuxedo, styled by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. The couple walked hand in hand and posed for the shutterbugs.

Those in attendance included Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Kareena Kapoor Khan arrived with Saif, Sara, Soha and Kunal Khemmu. Varun Dhawan came with girlfriend Natasha Dalal, Sanjay Dutt with wife Manyata, and Boney Kapoor with daughters Anshula, Khushi and Jahnvi.

Tiger Shroff attended the reception with Disha Patani. Other couples who were part of the celebrations included Raveena Tandon-Anil Thadani, Madhuri Dixit Nene-Sriram Nene, and Lara Dutta-Mahesh Bhupathi.

Arbaaz Khan came with rumoured girlfriend Giorgia Andriani, while Shabana Azmi graced the reception with husband Javed Akhtar.

Karan Johar posed with Ananya Pandey, while Sonakshi Sinha posed with her parents Poonam and Shatrughan.

The list of attendees included Katrina Kaif, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Rohit Shetty, Rekha, Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Farah Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Rani Mukherji and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Kriti Sanon, Sidharth Malhotra, Ashutosh Gowariker, Zoya Akhtar, Radhika Apte, Hema Malini, R Madhavan, Nimrat Kaur, Sonu Sood, Ritesh Deshmukh, Vicky Kaushal, Abbas Mustan, and Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra also came to wish the newly wed couple.

The Ambani family -- Mukesh and Nita Ambani with their children -- and sports personalities like Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, M S Dhoni, and Hardik Pandya also attended the function.

Shah Rukh Khan had not arrived till 1 am.

The couple had thrown a reception in Bangalore on December 21 and another in Mumbai on December 28 for family and friends.

Deepika and Ranveer dated for six years before they got married at the picturesque Lake Como in Italy. They first got married as per Konkani rituals on November 14 and then again on the 15th in an Anand Karaj ceremony.

Cupid struck them on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" (2013). The two were later seen together in "Bajirao Mastani" (2015) and "Padmaavat" (2018).

Washington, Jul 26: Regis Philbin, the iconic television personality best-known for his hosting duties on 'Live!' with co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Kelly Ripa, and 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,' has died. The beloved star was 88.

According to People Magazine, the longtime television host died on July 24. His family shared a statement on Saturday, "We are deeply saddened to share that our beloved Regis Philbin passed away last night of natural causes, one month shy of his 89th birthday,"
"His family and friends are forever grateful for the time we got to spend with him - for his warmth, his legendary sense of humour, and his singular ability to make every day into something worth talking about. 

We thank his fans and admirers for their incredible support over his 60-year career and ask for privacy as we mourn his loss," the Philbin family says.

Philbin began his iconic career in 1988, as the host of 'Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee' alongside TV presenter Kathie Lee Gifford. After 15 years, Gifford left the ABC show but the pair remained close after her departure.

In 2001, the franchise became 'Live! with Regis and Kelly', co-starring Kelly Ripa before he left in 2011 after 23 years on-air.

From 1999 to 2002, Philbin also served as the original host of the widely popular game show 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.' In addition, the New York City native's hosting credits include 'Million Dollar Password', the first season of 'America's Got Talent', as well as a reoccurring co-host seat on 'Rachael Ray'.

Born on August 25, 1931, Philbin was raised in the Bronx and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in 1949 before attending the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a sociology degree in 1953.

After serving in the Navy, Philbin began his career in show business as a writer and made his way in front of the camera in 1961 with a local talk show in San Diego called 'The Regis Philbin Show'. Then in 1967, he became widely known as Joey Bishop's sidekick on 'The Joey Bishop Show'.

After a string of local talk shows, including 'A.M. Los Angeles' and 'Regis Philbin's Saturday Night in St. Louis', the star moved to New York in 1983 to host 'The Morning Show', which was renamed three years later as 'Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee'.

His accolades include Daytime Emmy Awards for outstanding talk show host for 'Live!' in 2001 and 2011 as well as an outstanding game show host for 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire'. He also received a Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003 and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2008.

Throughout his career, Philbin had various health issues. He underwent an angioplasty in 1993, followed by triple bypass surgery due to plaque in his arteries in March 2007. In December 2009, the television personality had his hip replaced.

Married twice, Philbin is survived by daughters J.J. Philbin and Joanna Philbin, whom he shared with his wife of 50 years, Joy Philbin. He was also father to daughter Amy Philbin, whom he shared with his first wife Catherine Faylen. Philbin and Faylen had another child, son Daniel Philbin, who died in 2014.

Chennai, Feb 20: Three people, including an assistant director were killed and 9 others injured when a crane used for the shooting of “actor Kamal Haasan starrer “Indian 2” film crashed down at Nazarathpet near Poonamallee here late on Wednesday night.

Police said the accident occurred when a group of workers were engaged in erecting a set for a scene at EVP film city, private studio. As the crane crashed down, a heavy-duty light stand that was mounted on it also fell on the workers.

Mr Haasan and the film director S.Shankar escaped unhurt in the accident.

The deceased were identified as Krishna (34), an assistant director of the film, Madhu (29) and Chandran (60), who was part of the catering team.

Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services personnel, along with a fire tender from Irungattukottai rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies from the spot.

Mr Haasan, who was at the accident spot, also helped to transport the injured people to a private hospital near Poonamallee.

The bodies were sent to the Government General Hospital for post-mortem.

The Nazarathpet police have filed a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.

Meanwhile, Mr.Haasan condoled the death of three people during the film shoot. “The accident is the most horrific I have seen in my film career. I have lost three colleagues, but my pain pales in comparison to the grief of those who have lost their loved ones.

My deepest sympathies to them, he tweeted.

The Lyca productions also expressed condolences over the tragic accident. “We are extremely saddened with the unfortunate accident happened at the sets of Indian 2. We have lost three of our most hardworking technicians, it tweeted.

Mumbai, Jul 6: Mumbai Police on Monday recorded the statement of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.

The director arrived at Bandra Police Station on Monday morning to give his statement.

As per reports, late actor Sushant was approached by Bhansali for his 2013 film "Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela". However, Sushant could not take up the offer reportedly due to his contract with a production house. Later Ranveer Singh was signed for the role. The female lead was played by Deepika Padukone and the film turned out to be a commercial success.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police has, over the past weeks, recorded statements of Sushant's family, staff, a few of his friends, and Rhea Chakraborty, besides filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra and actress Sanjana Sanghi who worked with the late actor in his upcoming last film "Dil Bechara".

Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his Mumbai residence on June 14. The actor's postmortem report stated his death was a suicide.

Within a few days of the actor's death, a complaint was filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. The case filed regarding the actor's death was against eight Bollywood personalities including Bhansali, Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra and Ekta Kapoor.

Mumbai Police is investigating the death of the actor, though many fans on social media have been demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case.
