Bollywood stars express gratitude to moms on Mother's Day

Mumbai, May 8: Remembering their moms' selfless and unconditional love for them, B-town stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Preity Zinta today wished all their fans Happy Mother's Day.

mothersdayBachchan wrote on Twitter that no success in Bollywood would have been possible had it not been for his late mother. "Mother's Day: 1 year of PIKU: 28 years of KHUDA GAWAH: but without Ma nothing of this would have happened!"

"Mommy Twitter doesn't have enough space for my words. I'll keep it simple. THANK YOU! @Soni_Razdan #happymothersday Happy #mothersday mummypooooo!!!" wrote Alia.

Her mother Soni Razdan wrote, "My 87 year young mother won't read Twitter so I will wish her in person. But for all who will read Happy Mothers Day."

Sharing two pictures of herself with her mother and mother-in-law, Genelia Deshmukh posted, Happy Mothers Day Mama n Aai ... Thank u for being the best examples to follow... I love, worship, respect you'll the most."

Sidharth Malhotra posted a picture of himself with his mother and captioned itm writing, "Men are what their mothers made them."-Ralph Waldo Emerson thank you Mom! #HappyMothersDay."

"Everyday is Mother's Day still today is special cuz I get to spend time with mom in Shimla," tweeted Preity.

Dia Mirza wrote an emotional post dedicated to her mother.

"Happy Mother's Day Mamma! I am because you are. Thank you for being my guiding light and thank you for every time you have scolded me hard. No one in this world can make me see sense and no one can make me REALISE things as powerfully as you can.

"Our roles may have reversed, but that does not mean that while I love playing mommy to you that I can ever do without you being my mamma. And you always seem to know when you need to be mamma again #MothersDay," the actress-producer tweeted.

New Delhi, Jun 2: 'Dabangg' actor Sonakshi Sinha was showered with greetings as she turned 33 on Tuesday.

Sonakshi's father and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha took to social media to express gratitude that the family is spending time together during the lockdown period.

"This week is very special for my family, as we have a lot to thank for during this lockdown period. The family got to really spend some good quality time together," the veteran actor tweeted.

"Today we all celebrate our darling @sonakshisinha Sona's birthday. May she always be positive & abundantly blessed," his tweet further reads.

Actor Preity Zinta also made sure that she wishes the 'Kalank' actor as she posted a picture with her on Instagram.

"Happy Birthday my darling Sona. Wish you all the wonderful things, today and always. Keep Smiling and shining always. Love you loads @aslisona," the 'Kya Kehna' actor wrote in the caption.

Fashion designer Manish Malhotra also posted a picture of himself with Sonakshi on his Instagram stories and wrote, "@aslisona Happy Birthday Beautiful."

Actor Huma Qureshi too extended birthday greetings to Sonakshi by posting a picture with her on her Instagram stories.

Huma wished her friend in what seems like a code language as she wrote, "You are...this friendship..how to...Love...Dosti.." along with the picture.

"Don't want to use words, you know what I mean..right@aslisona," she further wrote.

Sonakshi was last seen in the third installment of her hit film series 'Dabangg' which was released last year in December.

Mumbai, Jul 28: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he was left in tears as his daughter-in-law, actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan were discharged from hospital after testing negative for coronavirus.

Aishwarya and her eight-year-old daughter, who were shifted to the isolation ward of Nanavati Hospital on July 17, were discharged on Monday.

Amitabh, 77, and his actor-son Abhishek are still in hospital after they were admitted on July 11.

In a post on official blog, the Bollywood veteran said that he became emotional when Aaradhya told him that he would be "back home soon".

"They go home, the little one and Bahurani... and the tears flow out... the little one embraces and tells me not to cry... 'You’ll be home soon', she assures... I must believe her," he said.

On Monday, Abhishek had said that he and his father were still under the care of medical staff at the Nanavati Hospital's isolation ward.

"My father and I remain in hospital under the care of the medical staff. Thank you all for your continued prayers and good wishes. Indebted forever," the 44-year-old actor tweeted.

Both Amitabh and Abhishek have been sharing their health updates with fans on various social media platforms.

Last week, Amitabh had dismissed reports that he had finally tested negative for coronavirus, calling the piece of news "an incorrigible lie".

Mumbai's Covid-19 tally rose to 1,10,129 on Monday with addition of 1,033 new cases.

New Delhi Apr 10:  Actor Salman Khan on Friday thanked people for staying indoors and shared two pictures, first showing Bada Qabaristan's (graveyard) gate which has been closed due to lockdown and the second was of an empty street in Mumbai.

The actor thanked the people for listening to the guidelines and understanding the gravity of this situation amid the 21-day government-imposed lockdown in view of coronavirus outbreak. The tweet by 'Dabangg' actor came soon after the conclusion of Shab-e-Barat.

Shab-e-Barat is observed as a day of forgiveness or atonement in Islam and leads to congregations at graveyards and religious places.

The 54-year-old actor took to Twitter and wrote, "Wah! Thank u for listening n understanding the gravity of this situation the country is in. God bless n protect each n every 1.

Over the past few days, appeals were made to the Muslim community from several quarters to not venture out of their houses to pray on Shab-e-Barat in view of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Earlier, the 'Tiger Zinda Hai' star shared his lockdown experience in a video message with nephew Nirvaan and urged people to take the government's advisory of self-isolation seriously amid the rising cases of coronavirus in the country.
