Kannur, Feb 2: Thalassery police recovered one powerful bomb and weapons including two axes, one sword, and five steel containers (kept for making bombs) from an unused plot at Kolassery near Kavumbagham on Saturday.
According to police, the bomb and weapons were recovered in a raid conducted by police following a tip off around 11.30 hrs.
The recovered articles were concealed under bushes and were shifted to police station. The raids would be continue in coming days, police said.
New Delhi, May 21: As many as 5,609 new COVID-19 cases were reported in India in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the country to 1,12,359 according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Out of the total cases, 63,624 are active cases, 45,300 patients have been cured/discharged or have migrated and 3,435 deaths have been reported.
With 39,297 cases in total, Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country, followed by Tamil Nadu (13,191 cases), Gujarat (12,537 cases), and Delhi (11,088 cases).
The nationwide lockdown imposed as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of coronavirus has been extended till May 31.
Bengaluru, May 27: Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa on Wednesday said that his government will re-open temples, mosques and churches in the state after May 31.
"We are going to open temples, mosques and churches in the state after May 31, he said while speaking to media in Bengaluru.
The Chief Minister added that the "guidelines will be followed" as suggested by experts for opening the worship places.
"We have no objections to open malls and cinema halls, but we are waiting for the guidelines of the central government, Prime Minister will take decisions to allow malls and cinemas to open," he added.
Yediyurappa has said that people from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will not be allowed in the state till May 31.
Sopore, Jul 1: Police rescued a three-year-old boy from getting hit by bullets during a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan and a civilian lost their lives after terrorists fired upon a CRPF patrolling party in Sopore.
Two of the injured CRPF jawans are known to be in critical condition. Three CRPF personnel were also injured in the attack, as per CRPF.
