Bombs hurled at RSS office; BJP holds CPM responsible

Kannur, Nov 8: An office of the RSS at Koothuparamba here came under bomb attack on Tuesday evening.

The police said that two crude bombs were thrown at the RSS office at 4 p.m. Windowpanes of the office were damaged in the explosion. The police said the nearby Sree Narayana Mandiram also suffered some damages in the attack.

The BJP leadership alleged that CPI(M) activists were behind it. According to the BJP, the attackers came on a motorcycle and threw the bomb at the RSS office.

BJP district president P. Sathyaprakashan said in a statement that the CPI(M) was inciting violence by attacking the offices of the BJP and the RSS. The CPI(M) alone would be responsible if the situation escalated, he said.

It is 100% case of mishandling by RSS cadre. They are the only manufacturer of home made bombs now it exploded in their own hand not surprise can say repeated incident.

Udupi, Mar 25: A 34-year-old man who returned from Dubai tested positive for novel coronavirus in Udupi district. This is the first case in the district. 

He returned from Dubai on March 18 and got admitted to a government hospital in Udupi on March 23 for fever. The swab samples were sent to Shivamogga laboratory for testing.

The report which arrived on Wednesday confirmed that he was positive for COVID-19, said DHO Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda.

Bengaluru, Jul 31: An ambulance driver was thrashed by the family members of a 75-year-old COVID-19 patient who passed away on his way to the hospital in Bengaluru on Thursday.

The incident happened after the patient died in the ambulance while waiting in front of the MS Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru.

The driver was dragged out of the ambulance and chased around by a relative.

His clothes were ripped off and harangue were hurled at him. The relative was seen shouting and blaming the driver for the patient's death.

Speaking to news agency, the driver said that he was unable to explain the sequence of the protocol which was to be followed while getting the patient to the treatment ward.

Karnataka is one of the worst-affected states by the coronavirus pandemic. According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the state has 67,456 active cases as of Friday.

The state government has been struggling to contain the spread of the disease as it has intermittently imposed and eased lockdown measures, especially in the capital Bengaluru.

Bengaluru, Mar 1: A Bengaluru Court has extended the judicial custody of Amulya Leona, who raised 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogan at an anti-CAA rally in Bengaluru's Freedom Park on Feb 20, till March 5.

Amulya was sent to 14-day judicial custody for her actions in the presence of All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

A sedition case has been registered against Amulya.

According to the police, a suo moto case under Section 124A (sedition), 153A and B (promoting enmity between different groups and imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) have been registered against the girl.
