Roopesh Shetty’s ‘Moke-Onchooru Joake’ to be released on Sunday

Mangalore, Jan 25: Emerging Tulu talent Roopesh T Shetty’s innovative album of songs ‘Moke-Onchooru Joake,’ will be released at Town Hall in the city on Sunday.

Announcing this at a press meet here on Thursday, Mr Shetty, said that the album is the result of six months of toil and was shot at different locations in four coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod.

The album, comprising six songs and appeals to youngsters, said Mr Shetty, who has already earned popularity through his CD of Tulu rock music which was a hit on Youtube.

Recorded at Satyam Musics, the album has popular Tulu stage artistes including, Naveen D Padil Aravind Bolar, Bhojraj Vamanjoor and Dinesh Attavar.

Music director Gururaj Mangalore and cameraman Ashok Bekur have done a great job, said Mr Shetty, who himself has composed the songs and played a lead role.

He said that Ocean Kids of India’s Got Talent fame and other renowned dance troupes would perform during the releasing ceremony. There will also be a comedy programme by Aravind Bolar, Dinesh Attavar and team.

Gururaj, Ashok Bekur, Nagarjun Mangalpady and Charith Udupi were present at the press meet.

Bengaluru, April 3: Central Crime Branch (CCB) Bengaluru has arrested two persons for allegedly possessing illicit liquor.

The probe team also allegedly seized bottles worth Rs 1.25 lakhs from their possession on Thursday.

A case has been registered against the accused and investigation into the matter is underway, Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police informed news agency.

Mangaluru, June 14: The management of Barakah International School and College has announced to waive off 33% of tuition fee in order to lessen the burden on parents who are undergoing financial crisis due to covid lockdown. 

This decision was taken after a series of virtual meetings with the Managing Director, Academic Director, Principal, Manager and PRO.

“While the school needs to continue to meet all the commitments and responsibilities towards the staff salaries, software, networking, etc, we fully understand that in the prevailing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, job loss, reduction in salaries, general hardships of the self-employed businesses and the slowdown in the economy,” sated a release issued by the school.

“We would support our parent fraternity pro-actively and at the same time continue to meet the high-quality standards of our teaching- learning process and infrastructure so it has been decided that 1/3 of the tuition fee to be waived off for 2020-21,” the release said.
