Mangaluru, Oct 14: The second Judicial Magistrate First Class Santosh Kunder on Friday sentenced a man named Mahendra to 15 months of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty of burglary. He will also pay a fine of Rs. 7,000.
Mahendra broke into the house of a court employee, Chamansab, in the PWD quarters in Bondel and stole articles worth Rs. 20,000.
The incident took place on the night of August 11, 2014. The police arrested Mahendra two months later and recovered the stolen articles.

Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.
Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.
