Case against Siddaramaiah shifted to Special Court for Peoples Representatives

Mysuru, May 11: Case against former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah, on alleged illegal construction of house and misuse of government office has been shifted to Special Court for People’s Representative, Bengaluru, Senior Civil Judge CJM Yashavantha Kuamr in his order.

Presently Siddaramaiah, MLA from Badami assembly constituency. A case has been registered against him on illegal land acquisition in Hinkal Panchyat limits in the District.

Survey no 70/4a land belongs one Sakamma and same has been purchased by Siddaramiah and constructed a house without the permission from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority(MUDA). Later in 2003 Siddaramiah sold the house.

Bantwal, Jan 11: Seven people were booked for organising protest without taking permission or intimation, police said on Saturday.

The alleged accused were identified as Nandavar Juma Masjid President Basheer, Khateeb of the Masjid Abdul Majeed Darimi, Gram Panchayath President Mohammed Shareef Nandavar, former President of Masjid Majeed, Arif Nandavar, Mustafa and Abubaker.

They have been booked for allegedly organising protest outside Nandavar Juma Masjid on Jan 10 afternoon without intimation to police or obtaining permission.

Mangaluru,  May 3: An unidentified vehicle mowed down a 62-year-old security guard near Guruvayanakere, Belthangady taluk, on Saturday.

The deceased Lingappa Moolya was returning to his home in Guruvayanakere on a two-wheeler when the hit-and-run case took place. Police said he was hit by a truck. A guard at an ATM, Moolya was also an active member of the local Kulala Association.

A case was registered at Belthangady police station.

Mangaluru, May 28: As many as 19 labourers, who were stranded in Lakshadweep island due to lockdown following COVID-19 outbreak, have been brought back to Mangaluru by a boat ' Amindivi' on Thursday.

On their arrival, they were subjected to medical examination and were warmly welcomed by their family members who had come to receive them at the Port.
