CBSE Denies Class 12 Accountancy Paper Leak, Says All Seals Found Intact

New Delhi, Mar 15:  CBSE has denied allegations of class 12 accountancy paper leak, saying “some miscreants tried to play mischief”. In a statement, the board said all the seals had been found intact at exam centres. It is not known whether every centre in Delhi was checked. The CBSE said some 'miscreants tried to play mischief by circulating messages through WhatsApp and other social media to disturb the sanctity of examinations. The Board has decided to take strict action against such activities.'

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today said that he has ordered an investigation into complaints that the question paper for the CBSE Class 12 accountancy paper has been leaked. Copies of the alleged question paper have reportedly been in circulation on WhatsApp since last evening. The same set of papers reportedly reached Mr Sisodia.

Mr Sisodia, who is in charge of education, tweeted that he had asked the Directorate of Education to investigate. He also said a complaint must be filed with the CBSE or Central Board of Secondary Education, which conducts the exams.

"Swift action must be taken, so that hard-working students don't suffer due to negligence of CBSE," he tweeted.

A school principal said she was horrified by the possibility of a question paper leak and a re-examination. “It is not just worrying for us but shocking,” said Tania Joshi, the principal of The Indian School. “Parents have been calling us and asking us about a re-exam. I am very, very traumatized for my students. Our teachers are very upset,” she said.

The Class 12 board exams have been shadowed by controversies this year. There had been allegations of the Chemistry, Physics and Business Studies exam papers being leaked. CBSE spokesperson Rama Sharma had refuted claims that the Chemistry paper had been revealed.

CBSE Class 10 English Paper: Board To Consider Students' Concerns During Evaluation

After students and teachers raised concerns about a question in Class 10 English paper, CBSE has assured that the board will look into the matter before the finalisation of marking scheme which is to be prepared for evaluation of this paper. An official from the Board told NDTV that it will make sure that no student is put to any disadvantage because of this confusion. The question carried wrong paragraph numbers, which confused students. "The board will take care of the matter before the finalisation of marking scheme which is to be prepared for evaluation of this paper," the official added.

The CBSE exams began on 5 March.

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 11: The effective handling of Covid-19 pandemic by the Kerala Government has received a big endorsement in the International media with the latest being a report in Washington Post which suggests that the State’s success could prove instructive to the entire country.

The Washington Post quoted Kerala Health Minister K K Shailaja Teacher as saying “We hoped for the best but planned for the worst. Now, the curve has flattened, but we cannot predict what will happen next week.”

"The Minister said six states had reached out to Kerala for advice. She, however, noted that it might not be easy to replicate Kerala’s lessons elsewhere," according to the Minister's office quoting the report here on Saturday.

Indore, Aug 3: In a bizarre development, the Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted bail to an accused in a sexual harassment case on the condition that he will request the victim to tie a ‘rakhi’ on him with a promise to protect her “to the best of his ability for all times to come”.

Justice Rohit Arya on July 30 also ordered the man to pay Rs 11,000 to the complainant as a “customary ritual usually offered by brothers to sisters” on Raksha Bandhan and seek her blessings while visiting her with his wife and a box of sweets. “The applicant shall also tender Rs 5,000 to the son of the complainant for purchase of clothes and sweets,” the order said.

The court directed the accused to take photographs and receipts of payment made to the victim and her son, which should be filed through his lawyer for placing on record of the case before the Registry.

The victim, a resident of Ujjain district, had alleged that her neighbour, Vikram Bagri, entered her house and sexually harassed her on April 20. The police registered a case under Sections 452 (House-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 354 (A) (Sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment), 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

The order said the man, in jail for more than two months, was released on bail, on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 with “one solvent surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the trial court, on the condition that he shall remain present before the court concerned during trial,” and comply with conditions under Section 437 (3) of CrPC, along with other conditions.

Mumbai, Jun 30: Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Prithviraj Chavan on Tuesday demanded a ban on NaMo app alleging that it was violating privacy of Indians.

The former Maharashtra chief minister also alleged that the NaMo app, the official mobile phone application of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, surreptitiously changes the privacy settings and sends data to third party companies in the US.

"Its good that Modi government is protecting privacy of 130 crore Indians by banning 59 Chinese apps. The NaMo app also violates privacy of Indians by accessing 22 data points, surreptitiously changing the privacy settings and sending data to third party companies in the US," Chavan tweeted.

India on Monday banned 59 apps with Chinese links, including hugely popular TikTok and UC Browser, saying they were prejudicial to sovereignty, integrity and security of the country.

The move came against the backdrop of the border stand-off with China and recent clash in Galwan Valley in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed.
