“During the last few weeks, it was observed that government work orders to certain contractors were issued along with the huge funds released on war footing in the months preceding to the elections”.

In his letter, the commissioner, said that when the IT officials were preparing to raid on the houses of Contractors, in Hassan, Mysuru and Mandya, had requested the State police to allow utilize the services of the Central forces stationed in Karnataka, which was duely approved by the Police department.

“Such a protest by Chief Minister and his Cabinet Ministers appears to be an attempt to browbeat and intimidate officers of the Income Tax and this should be considered, whether this amounts to preventing government officers from discharging their duties".

Bengaluru, Feb 22: The Hindu Mahasabha has decided to carry out a 'cleaning ceremony' by using 'gau-mutra' (cow urine) to purify Freedom Park, where pro-Pakistan slogans were shouted as a protest against the CAA, NRC and NRP.

On Thursday, an 18-year-old girl Amulya Leona hadraised slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad,' after the organisers of the event under the banner of 'Save Constitution' invited her to address the gathering. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi soon rushed and tried to snatch away mic from her hand.

Amulya, who was arrested by the police soon after the event on charges of Sedition, was remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

Associates of Amulya insisted that she was trying to make a point that nobody in the anti-CAA rallies would hail a ‘long Live Pakistan’ slogan while they would do so for a ‘Long Live Hindustan’ chant.

“She is not dumb. She knew exactly what she was saying. She had a clear narrative in mind, but was interrupted before she could complete it. Her half-comments are now being taken out of context,” said Sujnan, another student-activist.

“In the end, the campaign is not involved with whatever she said or intended to say. It falls on her to explain herself,” said a protest organiser.

Bengaluru, Apr 15: Karnataka and five other states have their coronavirus antibody test kits stuck in China because of the country's new policy of getting clearance from their government before a company exports its products.

Singapore-based Sensing Self Ltd and China’s Wondfo are the only companies that have cleared Pune's National Institute of Virology (NIV)’s validation for rapid antibody test kit.

Dr CN Manjunath, Director, Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, and nodal officer for COVID-19 lab testing, Karnataka, said, "Inventory is ready in Hong Kong Airport. Karnataka's consignment is stuck with five other states' consignments: Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Meghalaya. On April 1 or 3, China's policy changed saying any exports going out of China has to be certified by the Chinese government."
