On hearing the news of the Jamaican cricketer's arrival, hundreds of his crazy fans thronged Balmatta Road causing traffic jam for some time.

The batting spine of West Indies and Royal Challengers Bangalore was the city to inaugurate the Rathna's Wine Gate. The giant cricketer was accorded a warm and traditional welcome. He was then offered a tender coconut.

The crowd was so restless in the hall that there was chaos all around and the cricketer could not speak anything beyond praising this city. “It's nice to be in Mangaluru. It's a fantastic city,” he uttered.

Later, Gayle proceeded to Madhuvan Village restaurant in Yeyyadi where he had lunch with Mangalureans.
