CIGI Kuwait chapter elects new office bearers

Kuwait: The new office bearers of CIGI Kuwait chapter were elected unanimously for a term of two years in a solemn function held at winners restaurant auditorium, Farwaniya. CIGI KuwaitChairman Munawar Mohammed presided over the function and CIGI International Chairman Muhammed Firoz was the chief guest. A team of 17 members were elected as the Executive Committee for the year 2016 – 18.

Dr Amir Ahmed was elected as new Chairman for Kuwait Chapter, assisted by Faseehullah Abdullah as its Vice Chairman, Abdul Azeez as Chief Coordinator and Ashraf A.K as the Treasurer. Munawar Mohammed, Sagheer Trikaripur and Ashraf Muhamed were elected to serve the committee as senior visionaries.

The other members of the executive committee are: P Sameer Mohammed (HR coordinator & senior RP); Abdul Rahman (career coordinator); Abdul Gafoor (activity coordinator); Abdul Jabbar (media and PR coordinator); Mohammed Arief (social works coordinator); Naushad TK, Afsal Ali, Mehboob Hasheeb and Sayam Basheer (executive member).

Muhammed Firoz in his key note address summarized the activities of CIGI in various GCC chapters and elaborated on CIGI’s new vision the “Vision 2030” and the key factors that led to the new vision. He also gave details about the innovative project “Mission 100C4C” that aims at establishing 100 competency development centers throughout Kerala to develop competent leaders of high standards.

CIGI, the acronym for ‘Center for Information and Guidance India’ was established in 1996 with its headquarters in Kozhikkode, Kerala. CIGI is one of the largest NGO actively involved in upbringing and mainstreaming the educationally and economically backward communities and thus help them to contribute positively in nation building process. To achieve this, CIGI has implemented various educational and career empowerment programs throughout Kerala with the support of the local Government bodies.

Today, CIGI has its 11 chapters functioning in all the GCC countries and pursuing to extend CIGI’s activities further to other parts the globe including Australia, UK, Canada, Brunei, Finland, Malaysia and USA. CIGI International is the umbrella organization of all CIGI chapters outside India and promotes activities of the units abroad.

The annual Meeting of Kuwait chapter started with recitation from Holy Quran by Sameer Mohammed. The former Chairman Munawar Mohamed briefed the audience on various activities undertaken by CIGI Kuwait chapter such as Career Guidance, Career Planning, Teachers Training, Differential Aptitude Tests (DAT), Remote parenting, Real parenting, Students psychological and motivational programs etc.

Dr. Amir Ahmed and Sagheer Trikaripur conveyed felicitations. Faseehullah welcomed the gathering and Ashraf Muhamed proposed the vote of thanks.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.
