Kasaragod, Oct 4: Abdul Nafi, a Class X student from Badiadukka, drowned in the Canoli Canal in Thrissur on Monday.
Nafi, son of Muhammed of Mookampara near Badiadukka, was studying at R.M. Vocational Higher Secondary School at Perinjanam in Thrissur.
He drowned in the flooded canal while having a bath with two of his friends around 4.30 p.m. on Monday. Nafi slipped and fell when he was washing the dirt off his foot after a bath in the canal.
Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.
Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.
Tumakuru, Jun 20: An SSLC student of Siddaganga Mutt here was admitted to the isolation ward of the district hospital on Saturday after he showed Covid-19 symptoms.
Health officials said that the student, a native of the Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, had returned to the Mutt via Raichur on June 15 for writing the SSLC examination scheduled to begin on June 25.
After he was admitted to the hospital the Health Department Officials kept three of his roommates under quarantine. Throat swab sample of the student has also been sent for testing.
Bengaluru, Apr 6: Popular Kannada comedy actor Prakash, popularly known as Bullet Prakash in the film industry, died due to multi-organ failure at a private hospital in the City on Monday.
He was 44.
He is survived by wife, one son and a daughter.
