New Delhi, Mar 21: A class 9 student of a school in Delhi was found hanging in her house in Noida. The 15-year-old committed suicide after she failed in her class 9 exams.

The family has alleged that the teachers harassed and molested her.

The girl was taken to Kailash Hospital, Noida, where the doctors declared her dead. The teenager's parents have accused the teachers of deliberately failing her in two subjects and putting "too much pressure" on her.

According to the school authorities, the 15-year-old did not fail but was to appear in a re-test.

"She told me her SST teachers touched her inappropriately, I said since I'm also a teacher I can say they can't do it, might be a mistake but she said, I'm scared of them, no matter how well I write they'll fail me. Ultimately they failed her in SST. The school killed her", the teenager's father said.

However, Dharmendra Goel, principal of the school, has claimed that the girl was not molested. "No such incident happened, Kabhi bhi parents ne shikhayat nahi ki (the parents never complained)".

"This is a very unfortunate incident, we are in touch with the parents", the principal added.

Initially, an FIR was lodged against two male teachers for abetment of suicide under section 306 and 506 of the IPC. Now, the case has also been registered under POCSO as well.

Meanwhile, the police will be reaching the school to record statements of the students.

A doctor of Kailash Hospital, where the girl was taken after she was found hanging, said "15-year-old girl was brought to us, on arrival her pulse and blood pressure were un-recordable, we tried to revive her but couldn't. The cause of death can be known only after post-mortem."

Noida SP Arun Kumar Singh has said that the Investigating Officer (IO) went to the school early morning to investigate the matter. "This school is in Delhi, so we will look if any FIR was registered earlier in Delhi police station", Arun Kumar Singh said.

"The father did not give any information till late night, so the case is registered under IPC 306 and 506", he added.

In a latest update, the Investigating Officer of Noida police has been suspended for not mentioning Sections of molestation in the FIR.

A UP Police constable was also suspended because he did not include POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) in the FIR and only registered the case under Sections 306 and 506 of the IPC.

Noida, Jul 28: A doctor admitted at a private hospital in Noida has been accused of sexually harassing a patient in his isolation ward, where both were undergoing treatment for COVID-19, the police said.

The 20-year-old woman, in her complaint to the police, alleged that the incident took place on Monday and based on that a case was filed at the local expressway police station, they said.

A senior police official said an investigation is underway and there might be lapses on part of the hospital which allegedly admitted a man and a woman in the same isolation ward, in violation of the norms.

The woman and the doctor had tested positive for coronavirus last week, according to officials.

"The woman was in the isolation ward of the private hospital. There was a man, a medical practitioner, who too was infected with coronavirus and was sharing the ward with her," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Noida, Ranvijay Singh said.

He said the woman alleged molestation and upon being informed, the police immediately lodged a case and initiated a probe into the matter.

"There appears to be some irresponsibility on part of the hospital too. We are communication with the medical departments to check whether the patients were being kept in accordance with the guidelines," Mr Singh said.

He said the accused is still in isolation but the police will reach out for his statement following due protocols of COVID-19.

"All necessary action will be taken as per the truth that will emerge after a thorough investigation," Mr Singh said.
