CM Kumaraswamy to attend Narendra Modi's swearing in ceremony

Bengaluru, May 29: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Narendra Modi as the Prime minister of the country tomorrow at New Delhi.

According to official sources, Kumaraswamy will visit New Delhi tomorrow and attend the ceremony.

Modi is scheduled to take the oath of the office, for the second successive term following a spectacular victory in the just concluded Lok Sabha election in which the BJP led NDA had trounced the opposition parties including Congress by winning more than 350 seats in the 543 member Lok Sabha.

Mangaluru, Apr 18: The residents of Thokkottu welcomed a COVID-19 patient who was cured and discharged from hospital with a standing ovation. 

The man remained in quarantine after returning from Tablighi Jammat religious gathering at Nizamuddin in Delhi. He was tested positive for COVID-19 on April 4 and was shifted to Wenlock Hospital for treatment.

After he was tested positive, a complete lockdown was announced within a 200-metre radius of the apartment where he was residing at Thokkottu.

The cured patient will have to remain quarantined at home for the next 14 days.

He has thanked the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff of Wenlock Hospital who took care of him in the hospital. 

In the meantime, 12 COVID-19 patients out of 13 have been cured and discharged from the hospital in Dakshina Kannada district.

Bengaluru,  Aug 4: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and admitted himself to a hospital.

"I have been tested positive for COVID-19 and also been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors as a precaution. I request all those who had come in contact with me to check out for symptoms and to quarantine themselves," Siddaramaiah tweeted.

Earlier on Sunday, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had said that he tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

4,752 new COVID-19 cases and 98 deaths were reported in Karnataka on Monday, taking total cases to 1,39,571 including 62,500 discharges and 2,594 deaths, the State Health Department informed.

Bengaluru, Jan 8: CISF personnel at Bengaluru airport on Wednesday detained two persons after they found two live bullets in their baggage during the routine inspection.

The detained person, said to be of a Mangaluru origin who arrived at the airport on Wednesday morning has claimed to be serving the American military. His mother who had arrived with him too has been taken into custody.

According to officials during the questioning, the man said that he was on a leave and that as he had hurriedly packed his belongings at the last minute there was a possibility that the bullets might have fallen into his bag mistakenly.
